@James_Athletics I like it. Encourage athletes to go race big meets for points rather than time trials whenever and wherever is convenient for them. There’s too many races that dilute competition.

If Ken Paxton ever accomplishes anything more than when Cornyn whipped the senate into the 2017 tax cuts or confirming conservative justices, I’ll remove my criticism. But he will not be effective at all at legislating. He’ll be most effective at corruption and sound bites.

Ken Paxton is corrupt. Ken Paxton is the swamp. Ken Paxton is a disaster. Vote Cornyn.

Today, we share a breakthrough on the planar unit distance problem, a famous open question first posed by Paul Erdős in 1946. For nearly 80 years, mathematicians believed the best possible solutions looked roughly like square grids. An OpenAI model has now disproved that belief, discovering an entirely new family of constructions that performs better. This marks the first time AI has autonomously solved a prominent open problem central to a field of mathematics.

@usmnt_historian Love these types of clips. This is like when Mckennie chipped Pulisic, or Zardes scored off his face. These types of moments are also USMNT heritage. It can't all be goals and assists.

“Nothing but respect”? Obama said Romney was a felon who gave his employees cancer and would push the elderly off of cliffs. Biden said he would put black people back in chains.
Spencer Hakimian@SpencerHakimian

This was barely a decade ago. 2 competent, fully coherent, men in their 50s/60s disagreeing at the margins about ways to make our society a little more productive. Nothing but respect for one another. We’ve completely spiraled out of control politically since then.

As a mostly non-reactionary USMNT fan, I've been wrapping my mind around this for the past 2 hours. Here are my qualms: – Aidan Morris was MOTM (imo) in the playoff final. No one else on this team can control the tempo of games like he can. There will inevitably chaotic game states where the US is desperate for some control and no one capable of providing it. Tough weekend for him. – The midfield is bizarre. Good luck Tyler Adams. By the way, 2 yellows in 2 games means a suspension. A McKennie-Adams double pivot will require Adams to cover a ton of ground as McKennie roams, which means a ton of situations that could easily lead to bookings. I predict a few scenarios where Adams has to defend improperly to avoid getting booked, or he gets booked and we go into a third group game desperate for a result relying on Berhalter as our deepest midfielder. – 10 defenders for 5 slots (3 CBs + 2 WBs). 11 if Weah plays WB. This is overkill and means 1-2 less spots for difference makers further up the pitch. Scally/Freeman/Dest/Weah are essentially competing for the same role? – Zendejas makes sense as the only left-footed midfielder/attacker. Personally, I'd have taken Luna over Reyna (or even McGlynn). Usually I'm pretty ambivalent to tournament selections because I think international managers optimize for team balance rather than for the best individuals, but I think this is an unbalanced team that doubles-down on a specific style for specific players. The lesson I took from the 2022 WC was that the USMNT needed to be more adaptable to what each game requires, not playing the same way regardless of the opponent. We went into the knockout against the Netherlands with players at 60% fitness because there was little rotation and each group game was played at 100 MPH. I worry that will be the same again but let's see.

Romney’s loss was probably more significant than you’d think. Not because Romney was special, no one liked him, but he was a completely milquetoast candidate and he still had the dirtiest accusations hurled at him of sexism, Nazism etc Voters finally noticed

Amazing how quickly a position of depth can be whipped out with injuries of Johnny and Tessmann. Aidan Morris, Yunus Musah, Gianluca Busio or Jack McGlynn not good enough to find a #USMNT roster spot.
