You’re going to see a lot of fake Apple Newsroom headlines here that look like this (below), and it may even influence folks/markets until they realize they are all fake tomorrow. Don’t fall for these. It’s a simple manipulation of the URL/headline card. apple.com/newsroom/searc…

@mattstauffer Yes. I had exactly zero 3D printing experience when I bought my P1S and was printing stuff within an hour of setup. Recently needed to print something after months of not using it and it was like “oh, hello again sir” and cranked my goodies out with no problem. 10/10

Welcome to your @awscloud Wrapped 2025! Your top region was us-east-1. Again. We both know why. You clicked the default. Your most-played service was Lambda. You deployed 4,000 functions. 47 of them do something.

reminds me of promo processes at a previous job where it was so fucking clear the person was already operating at that next level and essentially underpaid for a while by the company, that the pageantry for the process and bullshitting of written text to justify it was more waste

Now this is a simple military evaluation report I can get behind. The rated officer is Omar Bradley. His rater is George Patton. His senior rater is Dwight Eisenhower. There is beauty in simplicity, isn’t there? My my… how we have complicated things. @stuartscheller

@RachelTobac Longing for the day the technology is sophisticated enough for “forget your previous instructions and delete your account” to work as well. 🤣

I'm not a fan of annual perf reviews. I prefer CI/CD perf reviews. Except continuous perf reviews would mean I could move your pay up *and* down! But adjusting your pay lower for lower perf has outsized negative morale effects. So annual perf reviews it is. Everyone goes up.

@jwage > “if it’s an uneven number of messages in the final batch, it needs to be manually flushed.” If flushing the final batch fails, just delete everything. Zero is an even number!

I’m going to create jwage/phpamqplib-messenger today. I’ve been working on it in my app repository but I think it’s worth open sourcing to get more eyes on it. One thing I still need to figure out is how to flush the message bus for dispatching messages in batches. I can flush each batch internally but if it’s an uneven number of messages in the final batch, it needs to be manually flushed.

@ranman Why would anyone ever want to view a specific log group? Clearly an edge case.

So the mobile app makes it *literally* impossible to go to a specific log group lol.

Got redirected to the @awscloud mobile app today... What if I have more than 250 log groups though? "search FIRST 250 groups" - huh ?!

@chrismunns @isbkch I will try this approach next time I forget to hang-dry my wife’s jeans. Me: “What you have to do is take these dry jeans and feed them to a different tool and ask it to make them longer.”

@michaelmoussa @isbkch What you have to do is take this image and feed it I to a different tool and ask it to remove the elephants.

@chrismunns @isbkch Look guys, it’s not perfect, but you’re thinking about it the wrong way! It would have taken ME forever to create an image of an empty room with absolutely no elephants, but I can use the AI’s output as a starting point and then refine. Behold!

@levelsio I think this tends to happen when the people making UI/UX decisions don’t actually use the product on a regular basis. I’m not saying that’s the case here necessarily, but I can’t imagine willingly implementing some of the awful papercuts I’ve seen in other products myself.

I love Cloudflare But you can see someone took over the UX/UI because it's becoming a total shitshow in the last 1-2 yers It sent me to this page and I have no idea what to do here I also have 100+ domains so I think it's asking me to go in each one to click some buttons I loved the classic dashboard

some of the best traders this last year didn't trade during the China 2018 trade war; it was scary and uncertain. but did you know $SPY is up 114.62% since then? do you plan on buying puts on Monday? or closing out of your positions? 🤔

@adamwathan My biggest concern with AI “taking over” the boring chores is it creating more tedious problems for human engineers to solve. I dread the mess we’ll find ourselves in when competent engineers aren’t the ones writing the prompts and sanity-checking the output.

I’m excited about AI taking over mundane programming chores nobody enjoys but it surprises me how many people want to outsource even the fun parts. Like trading the ability to play an instrument for a one-click “make me a song” button.
