@mightyman1989 Did you have any luck here Robert? I’m in the Westerville area. I don’t have a ton of work or anything but could try to help provide you some real work, mentorship, reviews, etc. Whatever would be most helpful.

Anyone in #100Devs (or anyone really) know of any open source slots available or looking for help on client projects? I'm not even asking to be paid at this point, just want to get started working with a team and maybe showcase some projects for when I job hunt.

I think I really want to get back into coding again in 2024. The long months of unemployment in 2023 leading up to my current job really took a toll on me mentally and made me so discouraged/uninterested in tech & learning for the sake of learning I’m ready to get back into it!

I'm in Ohio so EST, and can work M-W and F anytime after 5pm - 11pm. Already swamped with a full time gig and family responsibilities but all the more motivation to improve my situation

Soooooo...... I got a job :) I'm officially a software developer! Tomorrow will mark the end of my first week and I have loved every bit of how challenging and cool it is to do this for a real project and join a huge repo & team.

@kentcdodds Haha you can be a mini farmer like me Have a few chickens and a veggie garden. Got a nice set up so that the chickens are mostly self sufficient, other than collecting eggs daily I go out about once a week to fill up their food

I'm a software engineer and I absolutely never want to become a farmer. I'm not remotely interested in that life.

@megfdev I feel you on that I so badly want to pivot into tech, but almost feel like I'm only going to land a entry level spot which would be less salary and vaca time compared to what I have now

Seeing companies over hiring for SWE roles and then realizing it's not in their budget and laying ppl off. It's kinda scary to think about quitting my ft job where I have security for another that might just get rid of me after a few months leaving me with no way to pay rent.

Been a min since I've posted, life has been very busy. But it's been a great day having a daddy daughter day at unicorn world. It's tiring but I know these are the memories that will stick
