JK Rowling presents a direct threat to freedom of speech. When a human rights body is forced to remove report on transphobia following threats from wealthy individuals, it sends a chilling message to anyone speaking out for trans rights. This is silencing and coercion.
J.K. Rowling@jk_rowling

Translation: oops, didn’t realise people outside our ideological bubble are THIS pissed off about the loss of sex-based rights. We remain implacably opposed to any organisation fighting to retain them, but shove in the words ‘rights of women’ to keep the bigots happy.

I exposed (thanks to a courageous whistle blower inside Amnesty UK) @amnesty's plan to lobby for decriminalisation of pimping, brothel owning, and sex buying, back in 2015. This is a men's rights movement and deeply misogynistic. Not fit for purpose. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

In that case, India and Ireland were also colonisers - very bad. The truth? The colonised always become a resource for further colonisation. In 1707, Scotland was dismantled as a state by England pending a ‘union’ that never happened. England continued as a state without a single alteration or a pause and called itself Great Britain. Following this annexation, Scots were used as administrators across the English empire because they were highly educated - compulsory education from the 1400’s and over 300 grammar schools for in Scotland, not just the wealthy few meant a highly literate population - very useful for running an empire. Slave plantation owners? Especially in the death trap of the plantations where the English owners refused to set foot, Scots, now without prospects, colonised genocided and displaced, took on the management posts despite the high mortality and turnover. Made into proxies for the owners they were later counted as owners by historians because of the transactional documents where their names appeared. They acted in sales and transfers (through a special power of attorney) which is normally done only by an owner. But very few really were. Were they nice people who wanted to free the slaves or even treated them well? Probably not but owners they were not even though counted as such today. So administrators become conflated with the real owners/extractors of wealth from human misery. Now, enforcement arm of the English empire was the East India Company - evil embodied. It employed lots of Scots. But from its inception to its end it was entirely and legally, not British, but English only. Its charter stipulated that it was delegated its authority including devolved sovereignty strictly from the English Crown and the English Parliament (senate). Scots as soldiers; administrators, proxy plantation owners mirror the way the Indian population was used. Over represented indeed. But like India, we had a handful of profiteers whose cronies should be remembered and stoned for. A colonising nation, however Scotland was not.
Sheer ❤️ 🏳️‍⚧️@StillUnsung

"Actually Scottish people were only slightly overrepresented in empire-building roles as a part of the UK" THAT'S STILL BAD. YOU GET HOW THAT'S BAD RIGHT? YOU GET HOW THAT MEANS SCOTLAND WAS A COLONISER, RIGHT?

Bizarre that a sitting MP (one who has been there decades, I might add), doesn’t know that the UK government could legally abolish devolution in Scotland tomorrow, if they wanted to. This SNP are so utterly useless.

A man (Samantha Tempest, here abbreviated to ST) is arguing in court that he belongs in a group for menopausal women. It is pointed out to him that menopause is the cessation of ovulation and that, being a man who never started, let alone ceased, ovulating he does not belong in such a group. He disagrees. He says he's had 'menopausal symptoms' like hot flushes and brain fog. This is like me claiming to have been in the army because I once shot an air rifle and quite like khaki.

Not all of you, but far too many men on the Scottish Left, you are a fucking disgrace. Imagine growing up in Scotland, steeped in old school left wing values: standing up for the working class, protecting the vulnerable, and calling out injustice wherever you saw it. Yet for the last twelve years, you kept your mouths shut and turned your backs on women. You refused to show any solidarity as the trans agenda advanced. You stayed silent while men were let into Scottish women’s prisons The likes of Keir Hardie, John Maclean, and Jimmy Reid would be spinning in their graves, utterly disgusted at what the Scottish Left has become. You betrayed the most basic principles you claim to hold.

This is heartbreaking. People still believe the SNP performance, doing the indy seeking dance for the sake of appearances (and votes), when you know the outcome, is a clever plan to show the UN how Scotland is being denied its democratic rights. It’s not. The SNP could have set up a presence at the UN years ago. They haven’t. No NGO, no alliances, no presence at meetings, no petitions to special rapporteurs or committees, no formal complaints - nothing. When they were accused of performing the quest for indy in the past people said they were building up a portfolio for the UN. Where is it? They didn’t then and they will not do so now. In fact they just published - Feb 2026 - the report of a parliamentary committee inquiry which categorically states the only route to any vote on indy is through Westminster permission. The report also categorically dismisses any useful UN involvement. Yet it includes the British govt submission which categorically states there will be no further referendum… Go figure
“whatever”🤷‍♂️.@anton09hunny

@joannaccherry They know that but it’s building up a portfolio for the UN. We ask they say no so prove we’re not a colony?.

Her entire success was based on mingling with the people of Scotland of all areas - no miles high hedge and tall gates to keep away the smelly intrusive proletariat - those who voted for their freedoms. She just did not have the nous or the knowledge to following it up by securing full civil and constitutional rights for us. But that ideal will come about soon enough.

LIBERATION SCOTLAND: NEW MEMBER APPEAL🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💙 Dear Supporter of Scottish Independence, It is now clear that the recent election has delivered a fractured ineffective administration at Holyrood that will spend the next 5 years unable to progress either (a) independence for Scotland (despite its ‘pro-indy’ majority) in the face of Westminster refusal, or (b) expand national domestic investment in services and infrastructure to improve living conditions for Scots (to at least parity with other western countries with which Scotland is regularly compared) without the necessary control over the revenues from Scotland’s own resources, especially energy. The presence of ‘nationalist’ administrations in Cardiff and Belfast means that Starmer (and his Downing Street successors) will simply double-down on blocking ‘indyref2’ in response to any repeat demands by John Swinney! Westminster’s constitutional arrangements with NI, Wales and Scotland are NOT identical and there is a real danger that Westminster/Holyrood could trap Scotland within a future ‘devo-max’ settlement that undermines our historic popular sovereignty and strengthens England’s illegal grip on our nation, its territory and resources. The only deliverable route to restoring Scotland's full historic nationhood is through engagement with the international legal mechanisms of the UN and associated international organisations. It does NOT pass through Westminster or its Holyrood administration. Liberation Scotland’s key mission is to secure international recognition of Scotland as a Non-Self-Governing Territory (NSGT), as defined by the UN (i.e. colony), and to initiate the UN-mandated process of decolonization of the Scottish nation and sovereign people, including via the UN Special Committee on Decolonization (C-24) and terminate England’s wrongful act of 320 years of colonial annexation of Scotland. It is this important international campaign by Liberation Scotland, with support from Scots at home (including Salvo’s domestic campaign) and our extensive global diaspora, that gives Scotland an international voice where it matters and provides a clear and deliverable route, free from Westminster interference, to the restoration of Scotland to its rightful place as an independent and sovereign nation state within the international community of nations. Details of Liberation Scotland’s UN campaign (including attendance by Liberation Scotland representatives in March at the UN Human Rights Council 61st session in Geneva) can be found on our website and in our latest member newsletter, along with details of Salvo’s domestic campaign to protect Scotland’s historic national Common Good assets, which are currently under threat of loss to our communities from sale, transfer or change of use. Thanks to our extensive work during the last 2 years, Scotland’s case is now firmly on the agenda at the UN and our nation’s voice is being heard once again – most recently at the C-24 Regional Seminar in Nicaragua, where Liberation Scotland contributed towards four interventions on the very live issue of the advancement of decolonization. However more work remains to be done, and with three further interventions and a side event programmed for New York and Geneva later this month and next, we ask you to please join us and support our campaign any way you can to restore Scotland’s nationhood and sovereignty and to return its alienated assets and resources to the ownership of its people. In 1993, J. K. Rowling was divorced and clinically depressed, freezing in a rat-ridden Scottish flat. She wrote in cafés for warmth while her baby slept, typing out her novel twice - she couldn't afford to photocopy it. Twelve publishers rejected it. Then Bryony Evens, a low-level reader at the Christopher Little agency, fished it from the rejection bin. The unusual binding caught her eye. Finally, Bloomsbury decided to take the risk. Why? Because the chairman's eight-year-old girl, Alice, read the first chapter and demanded more. On June 26th of 1997, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone hit the shelves. Just 500 copies were printed. "You'll never make any money from children's books, Jo," her editor warned. Today? 600 million copies sold. The best-selling book series of all time.
