@Padierfind @SparrowKev Spar accepts crypto payments since long time. Now they added ADA to BTC, ETH and stables. I have never use it, bcs it’s way more convenient to pay with ApplePay and the RFID on my iPhone. And if this is not working, my second option is Twint. I don’t understand all this hype now.

Patrick hits the nail on the head. I completely agree with him. The attacker could have been anyone, anywhere. Also there was no direct financial gain (I think) for the attacker.

For the record: I highly disagree with everyone who's calling for authorities. Cardano is supposed to be secure. The code is supposed to be the law. If the code is flawed & you can do a transaction like this, then we (the Delegators + SPOs) are the ones responsible. Not the attacker. We cannot pretend to build a decentralized network that's supposed to replace nation states and then when someone finds a flaw and abuses it, call for said nation states to intervene.

@jasonappleton I Looked into it and it did indeed cause a chain partition between two major node implementations which caused two versions of the blockchain to exist. A hot patch was required to fix it. That’s similar to several historical exploits on Bitcoin which are considered very severe

looking at zec's run from oct 1st, it's clear this is just another double top it happened in the first few days of october with the 150$ top, then something similar around the 21st at 300$, then another double top at 450$ before the crazy run to 700$ also look at the buy volume: really big in the run up to 700$, but also on the 7th and 8th those buyers entered really high and they expect a 2x at least this small dump is just long liquidations, it's only running past 500$ again 1,000 next
