Revolut's Lounge Provider Switch: A Smart Cost Play or Market Positioning? Revolut has quietly switched its airport lounge pass provider from Dragonpass to LoungeKey. The change lands at a time when competition in customer perks is intensifying. What stands out is how quietly the moves reshape the value proposition for hundreds of thousands of frequent travellers. Revolut says the rollout is gradual, with notifications over the coming weeks. Existing DragonPass users keep their prior terms, while new access shifts to LoungeKey. Revolut insists benefits remain unchanged, yet customers tell a more nuanced story. LoungeKey offers a broader global reach (around 1,600+ lounges) with a stronger presence in the US and major hubs. DragonPass, by contrast, delivered unique options in Europe and Asia that some travellers swear by. User sentiment splits along travel patterns. On X and Reddit, vocal European and Asian flyers call it a downgrade, citing specific lounge losses and weaker Trustpilot scores for LoungeKey. Others welcome the shift, especially those with US-heavy itineraries or who already hold Priority Pass access elsewhere. Looks like this is likely cost optimisation for Revolut, switching providers to improve margins. It could also be a strategic move; the company could be shifting the focus to US and Latin American customers. Casual travellers may notice little. Dedicated flyers could see gaps, prompting some to reconsider the plan's value or explore direct Priority Pass options. This move highlights how premium perks are never truly "set and forget." What do you think — is this a non-event for most users, or a genuine step backwards for European travellers? Drop your airport experiences and plan below.

Interactive article: How sync engines handle realtime lists. Regular arrays don't work in multiplayer, users overwrite each other's changes. You need to use an alternate system, fractional indexing—here's how it works. Link ↓

Today, @liveblocks turns 5! 🎉 63% of tech startups don't make it to year 5. I'm beyond proud of what we've accomplished as a team: a million of users collaborating across millions of rooms each month. Our realtime infrastructure now literally power tens of millions of WebSocket connections each month to help agents and humans work together. I can't wait for what's come!

How far can you go in 30m in San Francisco? I built isochrones from the center of 40 neighborhoods to show how far you can walk, bike, drive, & ride transit An isochrone shows the distance you can travel when time is held constant (iso - same; chrone - time) There are interesting takeaways on the state of public transit and infrastructure in sf - full analysis (and app) out soon
