Still in hospital however a scan this week sadly showed more cancer spread in my bowel. A decision will be made at the wkend if I should move to the hospice as unfortunately surgery is not an option. Feeling sad but calm with the situation. Thank you for your ♥️. #bebrave #cancer

I think it’s a different job now, but I wasn’t teaching a long time ago, so only hear the ‘stories of yesteryear 😂).

@missokso @PolyglotElsa @WhistleblowingT I've never worked in a school. I've been a governor & volunteered to help with reading. My father was a teacher a long time ago.He never worked after school hours apart from a week during the summer holidays when he had to stock-take and sharpen tools (he was a woodwork teacher)

@ChrisLee240 @PolyglotElsa @WhistleblowingT stay in school until 5, intervention, clubs, calling parents, responding to emails and prepping, On average I do about 2 hours work in the evening at home. I’m not unusual, and not complaining, I love my job, but this is the reality of my day. 2/2

Marking AQA foundation physics - every time a student write ‘directly proportional’ I do a little fist pump and say well done!

There are many other non fam friendly jobs, but they don’t have the same external perception. Not to do with pay. I’ve worked for same pay, long hours & 26 days A/L

I don’t think people realise just how family unfriendly the teaching profession is. Leaving home before the kids get up and getting home after they are asleep happens far too often.
