I started resarching trying to understand the best way to get agents to actually design/build good interfaces, and one thing stood out. When you prompt an agent to design/build a landing page, it builds the entire page and delivers it once. Designers usually design in sections. And, when you want the agent to improve what's been done, you usually have to do it in sections to get the best results. Most "taste skills" run a full on review and gets the agent to apply fixes to the whole page or even all the pages on the project - which ends up delivering very similar results to thousands of users. Which by default, brings everyone who has used or uses taste skills to a better version of AI slop.

It's only in recent times that Igbo people started sitting on one name. Traditionally, it changed with every generation. Your father would bear his father's name and then reference his grandfather's name. Like Obi Chi, son of Ada. But, recently, it's easier to just keep one name than reference the others. So choosing to go by your father's name is as traditional as tradition gets.

I am Igbo. There's a reason we have a strong sense of identity, family-oriented, and carry our heritage with pride. Our surnames are sacred and distinct, tracing back to our ancestral roots. It is not something you casually change with every generation. This is why when one family member is soiling the name of the family or is in trouble, it concerns the extended family or everyone in the family, because we have a name to protect. A tree does not make a forest.

For men; I feel like after bearing your grandfather's last name, wouldn't you want your children to bear your own name?

Experimenting with Filter+ header interaction. Still a few glitches to fix but it's coming together nicely

@ppkorevaar I also think most onboarding designs(as of late) are heavily designed for edge case scenarios where the user takes a seat to observe all the motion, illustrations, and copies.

There is such a big disconnect between what the industry thinks is a great onboarding experience vs. how users actually use a product for the first time.

@leyeConnect @adebola_io Not entirely… the ideal flow would be maintain the canvas as is(clearly rebuilt to handle all components as code components) to allow for exploration. And when design is done and approved, designers raise pr that is pushed directly to fit.

@adebola_io One of my dev friends also mentioned this. Honestly, I would love to have an extensive discussion on this, but I need to go clear my task for today.

Figma and directly to code if/when it happens will revolutionise how development happens at least on the front end.

@leyeConnect The entire Figma canvas has to be rebuilt for this to work. Dove into the rabbit hole early this trying to experiment with something like that, and yeah, if Figma will drop it, it definitely won’t be very soon.

@pwnies I think anybody who actually spends time designing would agree. Prompting is great. But, a big part of designing is walking the messy path and figuring out which direction is ideal, and that, only happens through exploration. On canvas.

Hot take - canvases are for exploration, not for final product. Even if the representation is html/js/css, and you're using it for a website, the code may not be in the same stack/framework/etc you're using. At some point there will always be a translation layer. Embrace that fact and optimize for exploration instead.

i cannot wait until the canvas⇄code loop is fully closed. & supports every major coding language including, especially, SWIFT. figma is slowly inching towards that. but so are many others, like @MagicPathAI, @paper etc - may the best canvas win!

Vast question. 😅 I would say because people like to be in control. The more data you show them, the more they "feel" in control. And also because a large portion of the population have a very bad sleep. Supersleep goes the other way, though. The goal of the app is to help you improve your sleep by following healthy sleep habits, not by being overwhelmed by dozens of graphs, or sleep scores. Focus on the inputs, not the outputs.

Okay… this is incredible. I was having this conversation today about why this is yet to exist in Figma, and here we are. What a time to be a designer.

@NCResq It’s like Apple selling AirPods. Other headphones are good and work but the key sell is the ease and ecosystem dominance.
