Since the libs are already mad at me, I’ll poke the bear and say the anti-public-sector-union takes amount to effectively wishing for an end to the American labor movement—that’s just the reality when private sector unionization is ~6%.
I’m sure I’ll get some “yes” chad face replies and quotes, but be careful what you wish for; liberal democracy under capitalism but without unions has often been pretty politically unstable! People want a democratic say in their economic life; unions offer this. Without unions, allegiance to liberal democracy itself declines, because people feel (reasonably) without resource to have a say in where they spend a third of their lives—at work.
If you’re frustrated with the policy demands of some public sector unions, find compromises. Offer them something else in exchange! Do a little horse trading.
Better yet, reform and expand American labor law through things like sectoral bargaining so unions aren’t so often in zero-sum situations where they feel obligated to cling to existing jobs for existing members, because they don’t have a strong path to organizing new workplaces and finding good new union jobs for workers that would be displaced by, say, automating trains.

The point of this scene is that you're seeing Vader as he should be, not as he was. It's also just very odd to have Luke's father appear before him looking roughly the same age as Luke. They look like brothers, not father and son. And yes also the Prequels suck ass.

@tylerhmead Tbh a lot of the best games are games for children, Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild absolutely count on that front.

I would genuinely have far less heartburn about Abdul’s candidacy if he’d demonstrated an ability to 1) get elected to anything previously or 2) excite anyone who didn’t already agree with him.

Y’all can say whatever you want about Marjorie Taylor Greene, but at least she believes in something and is willing to fight for it. AOC, on the other hand, seems more focused on protecting her place in the establishment than taking real risks. While MTG challenged Trump despite the political cost, AOC spent 2024 lying for the Biden administration. I honestly don’t get the hype around AOC she comes across as one of the more opportunistic politicians in D.C. I can’t stand her.

@misthiOSX @RodolfoVontobel @briangaar There wasn’t a real primary because the Democratic Party decided there wasn’t going to be one. Many states only allowed Biden or uncommitted votes. That was a party decision, a decision both parties usually make when they have the incumbent.
