On September 6, the Wildcats will play Penn State at Wrigley Field as part of the inaugural SEC/Big Ten Volleyball Challenge.
Missouri will play Nebraska as part of Wrigley Field doubleheader.

Remembering Orlando Antigua wanted to stay at Kentucky when Cal left; Coach Pope ended up going another direction. Now with 2 assistants gone (his choices over Antigua), recruiting problems galore, I wonder if how much UK basketball regrets that decision?

Every team needs a dedicated coach and analyst solely focusing on ABS trends and challenge strategy.
NFL teams have it. And it feels like MLB challenges are even more important to prepare for because it's the players making the call.

@DaltonJJones19 People been saying this same thing my entire life. Mitchell teams at his peak were the same way. There are only so many of those type of women players available. And UConn, SC, and a few others take most of them.

In order for the Kentucky women to ever take the next step, they have to have some size with muscle and built depth.
Off season they need to focus on
2 bigs one with muscle one versatile
2 guards (particularly elite pg and one shooter)
The rest of the roster spots should be filled with solid role players.

@TBrown_80 There were 8 or 16 teams in the tournament when Rupp coached. Most schools especially in the SEC, cared little about basketball when he won his 4 championships.

Year 3 is make or break. Every single coach in Lexington with 3+ years (Rupp, Hall, Sutton, Pitino, Smith, Calipari) has at *least* an Elite Eight.
All but one (Sutton) has a national Championship.
That’s the Standard. Don’t believe anything else.

@markcstory I will always believe that coaches and administrators could have avoided the current situation by sharing revenue with the players a decade ago. They would not and ultimately the courts gave the players the control they have now.

Of course, no “tampering,” no “poaching”…just coincidence LSU fired its coach and hired NC State’s within minutes. The USF coach warned other programs to “stay away from my players.” Then, HE was gone…so, nobody had to stay away from HIM. The double standard is laughable. Let’s stop complaining about player choice when coaches leave at the first chance for a better situation for themselves.

@bettygeezy @AshleeinKY Pope was hired April 12. The Bulls made the play in but lost to end the season on April 19. However, there was a lot of uncertainty. If the Bulls had won it would’ve been another week or two and the portal was already open and UK had no players.

@CoachJimmyDykes Coaches and administrators made millions off the players for years. They could’ve avoided this by sharing the millions with the players a decade ago. They didn’t and now court rulings have put the players in charge.

@MattMaisch @GoodmanHoops Absolutely. A blue blood is more than wins and losses or tournaments. It’s an aura. Passionate fans, historic arenas, tradition. The only team is the SEC that sells out arenas and gets t-shirt nights is Kentucky.
