Bari Weiss -- as expected -- is actively purging CBS editors and reporters who don't want to spend their lives serving as state TV for the foreign country to which Bari and her bosses, the Ellisons, are supremely devoted. This is why the Ellisons are buying up media outlets.

@GovChristie The US/Israeli war was unnecessary, illegal and unconstitutional. Two attacks in two years during two negotiations against a country that is absolutely no threat to the US.

These problems with Iran have been going on for 47 years. We need skilled negotiators with depth of historical knowledge to get a deal that makes this military action one that actually protects America’s national security. The president sent two real estate developers. Why would any of us be surprised by the lack of results?

@RepJeffries NOT America First. But let's not kid ourselves. If Jeffries was in charge, he'd still be sending billions yearly to countries like Israel and Egypt. That's not America First either. He's even out of touch with his own party on these issues.

Outrageous. Trump plans to deny legal residency in the US based on whether he agrees with your speech.   Since when did it become "anti-American" to criticize the actions of a foreign government? Who is he fighting for? nytimes.com/2026/04/25/us/…

Well, Senator Know Nothing. Kim Jong Un has had a nuke for 20 years since 2006, and he's more bat shit than any of the mullahs ever were. So what has he done with it? Well, he essentially keeps it under his pillow so he can sleep better at night because he has a deterrent. Did you ever hear of that concept and if, not, better check with your colleagues on the Armed Services committee and all. BTW, deterrence is also why we have nukes. By contrast, the Iranians have no deterrent. They abandoned any research on weaponizing a nuclear bomb in 2003 and have not restarted it according to Trump's own DNI, Tulsi Gabbard, who testified to that effect in the Senate as recently as March 2025. Better ask one of your 25 assistants to check out the transcript. But after the Donald gives up on his failed war and shuffles home with his tail between his legs saying he has chosen to liberate Cuba instead, do you think the mullahs might change their mind and seek a nuclear deterrent, too. After all, having killed the Ayatollah, his wife and numerous kin, the Israeli's are not very credible in Tehran when they say that the 100 + NUKES they claim not to have are solely for deterrence. Either way, however, the gasoline price in the USA never got close to $10/gallon....well, until your idiot Dear Leader decided to economically nuke an energy basin which generated upwards of 30 million BOEs/ day of crude oil, condensate, natural gas and derivative products---LNG, LPGs, sulfur, helium, Urea, nitrogen fertilizers, petro-chemicals, pharmaceuticals, aluminum etc. So, if you want to talk about dangerous criminal outlaws, why don't you start with the mad man in the Oval Office. You so-called Republican ass-kissers are pathetic, as the Donald would say, like you've never seen before!
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

Sen. Roger Marshall: "Could you imagine Iran with a nuclear weapon? If Iran had a nuclear weapon, gasoline would be $10 a gallon. So it sounds like this latest breaking news is that Iran is capitulating. It's really hard to negotiate with these irrational, emotional, religious zealots."

Israel has granted a perpetrator of war crimes in Gaza the honor of lighting a ceremonial torch on Independence Day. By choosing Rabbi Avraham Zarbiv to represent “the spirit of the nation,” Israel is making genocide part of its official national ethos. “There’s nothing for them to go back to in Rafah and Jabalya… Tens of thousands of families have no documents, childhood photos, ID cards, homes. Nothing.” This boast was made by Rabbi Avraham Zarbiv, an Israeli Rabbi who perpetrated war crimes who has been chosen to light a torch at Israel’s Independence Day ceremony, today, April 21. This is one of the highest accolades in the country, granted to “exemplary citizens” who represent “the spirit of the nation.” Rabbi Zarbiv served about 500 days as a military reservist in Gaza over the last two and a half years. As a bulldozer operator during the genocide, he carried out war crimes of which he has openly boasted in videos he filmed, media interviews and public talks. Bestowing one of the highest civilian honors in Israel on a citizen who committed war crimes illustrates how deeply the dehumanization of Palestinians has taken root in the Israeli mainstream. It is yet another terrifying signal that genocide has officially become part of the national ethos. Rabbi Avraham Zarbiv is a regional rabbinical court judge for the settlement of Ariel, and head the pre-military academy in the settlement of Beit El that educates hundreds of Israeli youth. Choosing him as an “exemplary citizen” represents a state-level endorsement of the complete de-humanization of Palestinians, systematic destruction of Palestinian life and the governing logic of annihilation and ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Zarbiv is not ashamed of his actions, neither, clearly is the State of Israel. We’vecompiled some documentation here to mark the occasion.

The outrage shouldn’t be about a destroyed statue of Jesus—abhorrent as that is. The real outrage is the targeting of civilians, the assault on human dignity, the devastation in Gaza and Lebanon. War is evil. We need Accountability.

Araghchi’s tweet reflected an understanding in Tehran, likely based on what they heard from Pakistan, that if they took a positive step by opening Strait of Hormuz, US would reciprocate by lifting the blockade. But Trump kept the blockade in place, and through his many tweets, suggested that Iran was surrendering on the nuclear issue. This has only fed Iran’s suspicions about Trump and that Islamabad like Geneva is a diplomatic ruse before another military attack. The door to diplomacy is not closed, but it has now become considerably more difficult. Deliberately or not, Trump has undermined diplomacy and raised likelihood of more war.

Today, I voted to block the provision of U.S. military assistance to Israel: 1,000-pound so-called ‘dumb’ bombs and military bulldozers. In the future, I will continue to assess U.S.-funded offensive weapons to Israel on a case-by-case basis, and I will continue to support sending Israel much-needed defensive weapons, like Iron Dome. I have struggled with these Joint Resolutions of Disapproval as much as any vote since I joined Congress. I represent a state with a large Arab and Muslim population and a large Jewish population. And over these last two-plus years, few issues have been as raw, painful, and personal as this one. Throughout that time, I have worked hard to call balls and strikes based on my experience and the facts on the ground, even when some are reluctant to consider new information. My entire life, I have been -- and continue to be -- a strong supporter of a Jewish and democratic State of Israel. The people of Israel, like all people throughout the region, deserve long-term security and peace. But being pro-Israel today is not about simply supporting the political or military agenda of Prime Minister Netanyahu, just like being pro-American should not be equated with loyalty to President Trump. This is a complex truth that many of us who support Israel hold, and it applies to my own patriotism and government as well. I can support the security of a country without supporting the specific policies of any one political party or leader. And if Israelis can take part in rigorous debate and protests of their own government’s policies, Americans supportive of Israel can do the same thing. I have no love lost for the Iranian regime or their proxy groups like Hezbollah. I know firsthand from three tours in Iraq alongside our military how Iran is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans and thousands more civilians in the Middle East. But President Trump committed the U.S. to a war of choice against Iran, alongside Israel, with no evidence of an imminent threat, no clear objectives, and without Congressional approval. Seven weeks in, he has yet to provide a strategy for this war or a clear path to get out of it. So just as I am against more U.S.-funded weapons to Israel today, I am also deeply skeptical of more U.S. funding for the Iran war, which reportedly could be anywhere between $50 to $200 billion, on top of $1 trillion provided to the Pentagon last year. Every American should be invested in the U.S. ending this war with the least possible loss of blood and treasure. It is my hope that we can get a comprehensive and durable ceasefire as soon as possible.

@mnkorbey @SenatorSlotkin The “Palestinians” don’t support a two state solution and there is no genocide in Gaza. What there is is the prosecution of an asymmetric response to the Hamas/Iran attack. Which is how wars are won: see US v Japan post Pearl Harbor.
