@soapcorriefan @Lozza479761 I completely understand why she’s not liked & I’m a fan & i love her partnership with Carla, but every episode from Sept-Corriedale I was cringing more & more at the way they wrote her & shit they had her do, they did her a disservice by not tidying it up afterwards.

I was reading a post last night and the feedback on Lisa was brutal, she’s really not well liked outside of the fandom, and the Becky storyline has only made that worse. Personally, like I said in my original post, they should’ve spent the last four months rebuilding her character. Give her a friend, let her find some identity outside of Carla, or even bring her family in so we can actually understand her better. It’s just frustrating. What they’ve done with her character really pisses me off🙄

I think people are finally starting to realise that the whole “Swarla romantic spring” was just another one of Kate Brooks’ little enjoyable rides. We’ve got Connie, Roy basically burning alive, and wait for it, Lisa can’t find her warrant card 🤣 This is the first successful lesbian wedding in Corrie’s history, and instead of joy, build-up, excitement… as we know we get a murder as the backdrop. I wanted better for Swarla. I wanted better for the representation. If anyone can hand on heart say there has to be drama on their wedding day to keep people watching… I’ll eat my hat. They’ve had four months to rebuild Lisa’s character, to give us depth, accountability, even a hint of remorse for not believing Carla, her supposed soulmate, over Becky. Instead, we’re stuck going round in circles. And this whole “you just don’t get Lisa, she was abused” argument is tired. We do get it. What you’re not getting is that the show hasn’t actually told that story. Manipulation? Yes. But coercion? That’s never been clearly confirmed on screen, has it. The way it’s been written is messy at best and misleading at worst. For people who’ve genuinely experienced coercive control and saw parts of themselves in Lisa or even Carla, that lack of clarity isn’t just frustrating, it’s disrespectful. It blurs something that, in real life, is very real and very serious. I think there needs to be a bit more understanding that not everyone is naive or obsessed with impressing people. For some of us, what Carla and Lisa’s story means and meant, runs much deeper than that. It’s about our own history, our experiences, and finally seeing parts of ourselves represented on screen. But whatever.

@soapcorriefan @Helen10073 Now we know the aftermath, Having Lisa sleep with Becky didn’t add to the SL, at the time I thought maybe they’ll circle back to it & that’s why it’s happening but nope.. the SL worked without it, Becky could still have taunted Carla that they did without it actually happening 🫩

Agree. It’s just hard to overlook, though. The story was already hard-hitting enough without having Lisa sleep with Becky. I honestly think a lot of the fans who are frustrated now wouldn’t feel this strongly if the aftermath had been handled better. People would’ve been far more forgiving of what happened when Becky was around if it had all been written with a bit more care.

@EmmaHorsfa28434 It was Lisa who got me into Corrie & Swarla but the Becky SL & the way they wrote her character flipped me more to a Carla fan, still rooting for them but Carla has my support more.

#swarla I maybe hated to say this but it was Lisa who brought me back to Corrie as I was a big fan of Vicky Myers in previous roles I love swarla but more of a Lisa fan as I never was big fan of Carla but these two work well together and can’t wait for the wedding this month
