one of the best interviews i’ve seen in a while. @dylan522p seems to have a clearer grasp of the landscape than anyone else i’ve heard loved the authentic takes, his intuitions map almost perfectly to my own so. possible im biased. i’ve bookmarked because ill be watching this again and again and again.

I've been trying to solve this challenge for the past 5 years in a clean, non complicated way and today is the day 🥹 Streaming prompt updates for slow segments coming soon. What is this? When you set a timeout on a segment it will keep processing in the background and update the prompt whenever new data flows in. This means you get an instant prompt instead of having to wait for everything to finish processing, or not seeing the segment after the timeout hits. Five years. I need to write how I approached this because it's not just "seeing the light".

The amount of crap I get for putting out a hobby project for free is quite something. People treat this like a multi-million dollar business. Security researchers demanding a bounty. Heck, I can barely buy a Mac Mini from the Sponsors. It's supposed to inspire people. And I'm glad it does. And yes, most non-techies should not install this. It's not finished, I know about the sharp edges. Heck, it's not even 3 months old. And despite rumors otherwise, I sometimes sleep.

@davidfowl It's cool and feels productive. But if this is going to be the new norm, I'm afraid we'll see engineer burn out rates go through the roof. "I've never been so productive in my life, nor have I been this tired"

I have 10 terminals running. It’s amazing, they aren’t all for coding. Also copilot CLI has a code review agent built in (/review).

Currently, GPT-5.1 is almost unusable for me. I have no idea what the problem is, but the context window and memory are incredibly bad. For example: I write something in English, e.g., "summarise this in 2-3 sentences," and yet the reply is in German. Then I reply "in English," and instead of summarizing in 2-3 sentences, it writes a whole essay. It forgets that I gave clear instructions beforehand. And this happens constantly; it's so annoying. Overall, I feel that instruction-following has gotten much worse, like, really incredibly bad. Is it just me?
