Spent 5 years running UA for app clients (Meta, ASA, TikTok). Now building & marketing my own apps in public. Sharing what actually moves growth 📲

More fruit for my fellow iOS builders 🍎 This time it's ASA. Easy wins most solo founders skip: Go long-tail early. Everyone bids on "budget app" and gets crushed on cost. But "app to split rent with roommates" — cheaper taps, less competition, higher intent. Long-tail is where indies win. Build keyword-linked CPPs. You don't need a full makeover — just the first 3 screenshots, and sometimes only the headline. Switch the headline to match the searcher's intent and watch CR climb. Most apps don't do this. Free edge. Judge keywords by value, not CPI. A "free" keyword gives cheap installs but no trials — dead weight. Connect RevenueCat (takes a few minutes) and look at what actually converts to paid, not just what's cheap to acquire. Test cheap markets first. Brazil and Indonesia let you validate keywords and creative at a fraction of US cost. Prove it cheap, then scale into the expensive auctions. Run a brand defense campaign. Bid on your own name. Cheap, and especially important when you're driving external traffic — otherwise a competitor bidding on your brand catches the users you paid to send to the store. None of these need a big budget. Just a few hours and intent. Which one are you sleeping on? 👇

ASO low-hanging fruit 🍎 As a solo builder, you should be squeezing every easy win in your business. Lucky for iOS founders, I packed the ASO ones for you: Leverage localization. Spend 1-3 hours doing ASO research on markets with decent ARPU and low competition (RevenueCat or Adapty can help you spot them), then localize for those markets. Fresh keyword fields, barely any competition. Get ratings early. Strategically time your rating prompts — and yes, ask friends right after launch. For a new app, a single rating can move your ranking. Use PPO to A/B test your screenshots. A small lift in conversion rate snowballs — better CR powers your whole store presence, paid and organic. None of these need money. Just a few hours and intent. Which one are you sleeping on? 👇

After years of sacrifice, discipline, and relentless hard work… I’m finally only 999,728 followers away from 1 million. 🚀 Please respect my privacy during this historic moment. Jokes aside, if you’re building great products with AI and experimenting with creative ways to distribute them, let’s connect. Let’s expand the circle, share what’s working, and make each other’s feeds slightly more useful. The road to 1M—or at least 300—starts here.

@wakey7dev I heard a few people run profitable campaigns on ASA but now sure to run for my apps since we knew it didn't work in previous years What is your cycle? Do you prefer TikTok or Meta ads when you give up on ASA?

The only 5 steps you need to build a $10K MRR app : >Ask for a rating BEFORE the paywall → get the 5 star while they're still in the honeymoon phase ( their guard goes up the second they see pricing ) → then show pricing >Nail the onboarding → show value in under 30 seconds, dont explain features instead show outcomes ( make them feel success before you ask for anything ) >Require card details for the free trial → removes freeloaders, pre-qualifies serious users ( increases conversion by 3x every time ) >Add a weekly plan, monthly and yearly alone isn't enough → lowers the commitment fear most users have ( converts the ones who just want to test before going long term ) >Build for retention from day one → most founders build for acquisition, the ones who hit $10K MRR build for the second, third, fourth open Skip any of these and you're leaving money on the table.

Before spending more money on traffic, make sure your app knows how to turn traffic into money. Social ads and viral marketing are powerful. But when launching a new app, you don’t know your conversion baseline yet: • Does onboarding activate users? • Does the paywall convert? • Is the pricing right? • Does the trial produce subscribers? Most first versions need work. I prefer starting with Apple Ads and targeting high-intent keywords. If qualified users install but don’t pay, the traffic probably isn’t the main problem. Your funnel is. Test the product page, onboarding, paywall, offer, and pricing until the numbers improve. Moving from 0.5% to 3% install-to-paid conversion means turning 500 customers into 3,000 from the same 100,000 installs. That’s 6× the revenue opportunity before increasing traffic. Fix conversion first. Then scale Meta, TikTok, creators, and viral content.

@carlmonkft @Superwall It's much better if you connect Codex or Claude, the native AI builder within Superwall can do the job but may take time and many itteration, by connecting the agent the process is much smoother and it can use context from your app cod, style etc

The @Superwall AI Paywall feature is GOAT, so easy to make adjustments and even create paywalls from scratch based on screenshots of my app. Actually something I've been wanting ever since I used Superwall Also, I'm glad they didn't change the UI of the existing dashboard and editor

@alexcooldev I had the same misconception, until i found myself vibe coding apps better than what my clients used to pay agency $5K to build. btw, i have been freelancing on app industry for years and i saw clients struggling with agencies when it comes to app building

Last year, I thought 100% vibe coding was a joke and that no truly high-quality product could be built that way. This year, I’m starting to think I was wrong. AI models are improving insanely fast. But now I have another question: What happens when products are released at the speed of fast fashion? 🤔 It’s still good enough to use, but there’s simply too much of it, and it’s too cheap.

you can get AI to watch videos by taking a bunch of screenshots and then analyzing them here i got Codex to analyze an app's preview video on the app store - it decided to take 1 screenshot per second to analyze a 30s video

So realized in my country (Serbia) its not possible to have a apple ads account or a tiktok ads business account. The two most viral types of ad streams... Not available. 😂 Might need to start an ad agency... This is ridiculous.

@BratDotAI You welcome, Posthog or Mixpanel they both serve the same purpose, you can check both and decide what works the best for you. Mixpanel have a codex integration so that's a plus

HookSpark over the last 28 days (still very early days): - 25 new users - 29 active users - 0 subscriptions If this were your app, what metrics would you add instrument to understand why users aren’t converting?

paying $30 for a single human ugc is genuinely wild when ai ugc is right here tbh. u can straight up just scroll through the ready-to-use templates in oriorai.com and pick the exact vibe u need for a fraction of the cost ofc. literally about to hit $11k mrr just by abusing this exact exploit lmao. timeline is actually still paying humans while we mass print free roi fr

We paid $30 for this UGC. It reached 175k views, sent 1,000+ visitors to our website, and massively outperformed a normal day in signups. This feels like a cheat code !
