@roh_schach … further altering it to “get back at him” is uncalled for and, frankly, really mean. my take is he can’t/won’t sit with his own discomfort of realizing his safe food has an ingredient he doesn’t normally like, and instead of adapting, he’s unfairly taking it out on her.
English

@roh_schach … like you’re vegetarian and find out a food has meat, etc., there’s no reason to blow up like this. ESPECIALLY since she’s doing her best to make something she knows he likes, which is so considerate. attacking her and accusing her of (cont.)…
English

okay autistic oomfies. genuinely curious on other ppls thoughts because so many allistics in the replies being weird
personally, i feel like learning a meal you love has an ingredient that is not a safe food after a long time of eating it means you need to get over it (cont)
beatrice@dodgygem
@thechosenberg the full post she “ruined” it because she revealed there is tomato products in the strew which aren’t a safe food for him

@madbutwright if they were right next to each other, it would be different. but they weren’t. this woman isn’t an employee. it’s a kind courtesy to help when you can, and as a 5’1 person i appreciate when tall people offer to help, but given the situation, this is still rude.
English

@madbutwright it’s not the asking for help that’s offensive so much as it’s the assumption that it was fine to inconvenience her for it. there’s also a history of race dynamics that comes into play that the wt woman seems unaware of but this woman has to deal with on a daily basis.
English

@harvestlifer @madbutwright @TalkingTier1 i’m 5’1, so i get the short person struggle, but like… just climb the shelf. or find an employee. i could see asking if you’re right in front of the high up thing and a tall person is right next to you, but even then, i usually just climb unless they see me climbing and offer.
English

@harvestlifer @madbutwright @TalkingTier1 this is what i thought was the offensive part too, but i’m also aware of this history. and honestly, even if they were both wt and there was no one in uniform around, it’s still odd at best to walk that far to ask a stranger for this kind of help.
English

@BrogIe_pyon also i hope this question doesn’t come across as offensive. i’m genuinely asking out of curiosity, but the character limit makes it hard to convey that sometimes, because you have to shorten things, and that can make stuff feel overly blunt (to me).
English

@BrogIe_pyon is this for safety reasons, like to keep traffickers from accessing them and being able to gain info they could exploit? i’m surprised they would make resources so hard to find unless that’s somehow beneficial to people they’re actively helping.
English

@ask_aubry his argument is obviously stupid all on its own, but i feel like he failed extra hard using this woman as an example, because she’s pretty either way. “oh no, she took her makeup off, and she’s still beautiful! what a terrible trick!” like… sir. wtf.
English

@emonormie love this. gender is a *spectrum* and people don’t always realize that. no one should ever be blocked from exploring who they are, regardless of where they end up landing.
English

@emilykmay it’s almost as if all the women saying personality/character traits matters to us more than the 6/6/6 bullshit are telling the truth or something…
English

@emilykmay if you’re too stupid to figure out how someone looks without makeup (and i feel like the venn diagram between those people and the “‘makeup is a lie!” people is a circle), that’s on you. makeup absolutely can change your appearance, but most people don’t look that different.
English

just picturing dudes walking around with VR headsets screaming at women, "you're a fraud!!!!!!!!" like ok whew we will date you now, you got us 😭😭😭

With Augmented Reality glasses, soon you’ll be able to see what females look like without makeup, ending their centuries of fraud. We’re not going to let them get away with it any more.
English

@emilykmay my guess would be because they can exploit the oppressive system. studies have shown that people are generally nicer to attractive people, so if they can use that to their advantage and get more tips than they would at a different restaurant, power to them.
English

@offbeatorbit this 100%. anyone who has ever spoken truth to power - regardless of whether they did that with violence or not - and ended up in the spotlight has been punished for it.
English

@finngalkn i’m sorry you experience this, but i’m also glad you do what you can to make it clear that you’re not a threat. we don’t know the history of every person around us, so the fact that you actively try to signal a sense of safety goes a long way. 💖
