I had a fraudulent charge from an online biz I didn't even know existed, then when I tried to contact them there was no email and no phone number and the only way I saw was to message through their account-gated chat bot thing. I of course didn't even have an account and I'm not looking to start a relationship lol. This is the other side.

A customer disputed our credit card charge 1 month after leaving a 5-star review.. and won I uploaded the 5-star review and a transcript of the phone call where she was happy and booked again. The bank still sided with the customer How is this possible?

@Slamma5284 @LoganARobison Do you have a lot of success contacting online businesses about anything ever? Bothering to contact goes against the learned intuition it is a waste of time to email and there is no phone number.

I’ve won disputes with customers, but they are such a hassle. E-commerce - 99 out of 100 times a chargeback claim is filed, the customer never contacts us about any issue prior to filing their claim against us. There should be a law where the customer is required to contact business prior to filing a chargeback.

There’s someone who’s been frankly - really mean on here. Had never met them in person, and had no idea why. Recently saw them at an event, and walked up with a big smile to say hello. After a few mins, they said: “Look I want to apologize. I asked you to be on my podcast a while back, and didn’t hear back from you, so I went negative.” I explained I had no idea about the invite. I look forward to a long friendship 🙏

@trengriffin Corn production has risen from 2022's 13.7 billion bushels to 16.7 billion in 2025. Source USDA. Even as prices dropped. It appears the price of corn does not matter?

For better or worse, it won’t take long for widespread 15% tariffs to become politically entrenched. A future administration will find that reversing them is viewed as harming American competitiveness and jobs. Such is the path dependency and status quo bias of policymaking.

@TannerBuilds @cityaestheticss There are far far worse offenders in the whole snout-house thing, this has a proper front entry to the living space and the timber framing is nice. Good luck with the remaining work!

Sorry not trying to be annoying! Yes the co turned to profit with Switch 1 in 2017, no doubt. What I mean is, for example, Switch sales peaked in 2020/21 and yet that is a low point on your graph. How were Switch 1 sales way up and this co's results down at the same time? Switch sales also are way down in 2024 and yet thats a high point for this co? It appears Switch 1 actual sales numbers have no impact on company revenue or operating results is all I'm observing.

NEW: Supply of components is plenty for Nintendo to ship more than 20 million Switch 2 units by March next year but production bottleneck this time is assembly. Samsung is also pushing OLED panels for future Switch 2 refreshes. Story is free for a week: bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Idk if this is a great source to trust but i.redd.it/5wbm4ji4jhre1.… Switch 1 sales went massively up and down and nothing shows in this co's results. Somehow Switch 1 perf does not matter. As for US interest rate, yeah it is arbitrary but I guess my point is the there is some kind of bar for returns one should compare against. If the co had 2% dividend and ignored shareholders for 10 years would that be ok because book value went up?

@morecours528 @6d6f636869 Why do you think they didn't benefit? I didn't even look into this company yet but it looks like switch 1 swung them from losses to consistent profits. Why are you using US interest rates to benchmark JPY denominated investment? Turkish 10 yr bonds are 32%!

Switch 1 succeeded hugely but this co didn't benefit from that at all after 2017 even as Switch 1 outperformed. Why expect better from Switch 2? I agree biz valued at zero, however that isn't enough. 5% on 30yr means you're by default falling behind on this unless something changes (growth or increased shareholder return). Still great for a basket, not a hater!

@morecours528 @6d6f636869 Since switch 1 it looks like net income went from losses to profits and revenue increased too. Has been largely flat since then. Switches have continued to sell well the entire time so they likely coasted on that. Market values the biz at less than free.

@AltayCapital @6d6f636869 Their operating results have been flat since 2017. 8 years of TTM can be ice-skated on. If they may benefit from Switch 2, why didn't they benefit from Switch 1? I have not looked into their involvement with 1 or 2 but seems like obv question.

@AltayCapital I was mostly joking, it does look like this may be a sustainable dividend (coin flip based on past few years). Unfortunate that when they have an off year and trim back based on payout ratio it'll do the opposite of today to the price. Strange to see dividend setting prices.

@morecours528 Tiger has been paying a dividend based on profits (payout ratio). So when net income declines dividend does too. It gets raised the same way. That's the case for many JP companies. The payout ratio for this co is now over 70%. Change was not based on incremental profits.

Another example of things changing in Japan. Smallcap co that never really cared about shareholders Nippi (7932) upped dividend from ¥80 to ¥220 late 2023 and recently increased it to ¥633. Stock traded for 0.3x p/b for a long time and has rerated to 0.72x
