You missed the point. I never said you should run on four hours of sleep every single day. The point is, if your entire existence is just strict routines, no drinks, and zero risks, you become a machine with no soul. Brutal discipline is mandatory, but so is actually living and experiencing the world. You need both.

The man who gets nine hours of sleep, eats perfectly clean, never drinks, and works out every single day is the most lifeless guy I know. His bloodwork is perfect, but he has absolutely nothing to say. He treats his body like a temple, but no God ever showed up inside. Meanwhile, the men who actually see the world are running on four hours of sleep, bad habits, and something chewing at them from the inside that refuses to let them go numb. True awareness is expensive. It costs your health. You pay for it with your body. The flame has to burn the candle to create light. That is the deal.

@schober222 10-12% you’ll have visible abs which is what most want, and you won’t wreck your testosterone levels. Single digit is still cool and always a fun challenge if you want to push it further 😃

Despite what Fitness X tells you… You don’t need to get to single digit body fat on a cut for it to be a successful cut Not everyone has the desire to be bodybuilding lean and quite frankly, I don’t even recommend it for the average dad that just wants to be healthy and be around longer for his kids Especially if he started out overweight and unhealthy You can hit 10-13% body fat, call it there and be happy as you will look better than 99.99% of the human population in that range Being single digit body fat is cool and if you wanna see what you’re made of, then yeah do it brother But don’t be fooled into thinking you have to get that lean to have a great cut

@BerbarianWizard Counterpoint: if a diet can be ruined by just 2 days then it's not a sustainable natural metabolic diet but one that creates deficiencies crying out for refeeding and yoyoing. A metabolic diet that vivifies an organism creates distate for starvation gorging. Peat spoke of this.

Is anyone in the market for a 700-year-old Templar Knights watchtower? Because there's one for sale in the Lot valley, France. 7 bedrooms across 6 floors, a frescoed dining room, spiral staircase and views over a peaceful medieval village in the Lot region. There's also a 2-bedroom stone cottage in the walled courtyard, an enclosed garden and a heated swimming pool. Asking price: €550k ($634k). The Templar Knights who built this probably didn't picture the pool. But here we are.

@OsintCollective @HistoryWJacob Fair point. I would add that there was bifurcation point, something along Lindy effect lines, if they managed to past 30, they tended to live to late 70ties

@HistoryWJacob The point is they had no real time to decide or choose a career or spend $150,000 on school. They had 10 years to live. Now we live another 50-70 more. Spending 5-10 years on choosing wisely aligns more closely.

The concept of "teenager" is a modern invention. For most of human history, a boy of 13 was already a man, apprenticed in a trade or fighting in a war. George Washington was a professional surveyor at 16. Alexander Hamilton managed a trading company at 14. In medieval Europe, noble boys could be pages at 7 and squires by 14. In Rome, a boy put on the "toga of manhood" at 14. The idea that an 18 year-old is "still figuring things out" would have been incomprehensible to our ancestors. I believe this is why we think teenagers are so troubled. They are men and women stuck in a society that treats them as children. Of course they are going to "rebel". We should give them more responsibility and expect much more of them.

Still one of the craziest random facts I've ever heard: If you intermarry and have a mixed-race kid, you will have more genetically in common with a stranger of your race, than your own child 😳 This is why parents of mixed kids statistically have a much more difficult time connecting with their children on a deep level. They have completely different biological hardware, especially psychologically.

Can you explain this to me (im serious), since the war with Iran started we have seen dems support eroding and gop support increasing...this is so contra intuitive too me and my friends ( I have to admit I was expecting opposite)...any theory/explanation for this, or this poll is just a random error in polling (i.e randomly caught GOP leaning sample)?

@Budgetdog_ Ridiculous as this rule does not scale at higher incomes. If someone takes home 30k a month and their mortgage is 50% of their take home , they couldn’t live off the remaining 15k a month?

Oddly enough, the accounts suspended had 1 of two things they were posting: 1. They were posting the hidden permanent jobs for H1-B Visas only so Americans could apply for them. 2. They were posting foreigners, who are violating their Visa. Two people took credit for the suspensions: @cloudwatch199 @IndianCDefender
Nikita Bier@nikitabier

Fixed. 99% of those suspensions were reverted today. For about 12 hours, a new spam filter had falsely tagged subset of accounts. Spam has become the greatest risk to the platform. As AI becomes more sophisticated, we are investing heavily in upgrading our tools. In most cases, we have very high precision, but last night's bug led to temporary loss-of-access for a small percentage of users.

@KurtSupeCPA This assumes that the parents: 1) have a spare room/space that they would have rented out for 1,500/month, 2) the 34 year old is consuming almost 185 per week (!!!!) in groceries, is this caviar?, 3) the parents are paying for his phone/utilities, why and these cost 350/month?

Their son moved back in at 32. "Just until he gets back on his feet." He's 34 now. Here's what "back on his feet" has cost them: No rent. That's $18,000/year in forgone income they could charge. Groceries and food cost up $9,600/year. Cell phone, streaming, utilities: $4,200/year. The "loans" that are never getting repaid: $47,000. Real cost over 2 years: $79,400. They're 61 and 63. That $79,400 invested at this stage was worth roughly $180,000 at retirement. He has a job. A good one. $72,000 a year. He has a girlfriend who's also there on weekends. They haven't asked him to leave. "He's our son." I understand. But here's what I've seen: Parents who sacrifice their retirement for adult children who are capable of standing on their own. And then become financially dependent on those same children at 82. The most loving thing you can do for your kids is model financial independence. Hypothetical example. Not personalized financial advice.

@e_cdalton Every height on this chart needs to substract like 50-60lbs to realistically be at 10% bodyfat. Exceptions to this would only include the .001% that are genetically gifted and steroid abusers.

For every height, you’re going to have an ideal weight that looks best on you. For guys, this weight (pounds) should be maintained at 10% body fat or below, meaning you need solid muscle development: 5’6 = 201 5’8 = 215 5’10 = 230 6’0 = 247 6’2 = 260 6’4 = 280
