. @mkituuma "Yesterday, 7th October 2025, a video circulated on social media depicting a male client assaulting a female attendant at a Shell petrol station. Our preliminary investigations point to ASP NSIIMA, a police officer as the suspect. The officer has apprehended and detained in police custody. He will be brought to account as soon as investigations are complete. We have got in touch with the victim and witnesses. We condemn this behaviour as it contravenes our disciplinary code.

To address the rising cases of land-related conflicts in Arua District, particularly those affecting women, children, and vulnerable groups, FIDA-Uganda, under the Partnerships on Accountability, Civic Engagement and Rights project supported by 🇩🇰🇸🇪🇳🇱🇮🇪, partnered with @ESAFFUG to conduct a 2-day Land Camp in Logiri Subcounty. The camp created a space for community members, leaders, and partners to engage in open discussions and awareness sessions on land rights, governance, registration, and access to justice.
Through legal aid clinics, community sensitizations, and group dialogues, participants deepened their understanding of land laws, ownership, and dispute resolution. The initiative also strengthened collaboration among civil society, local leaders, and government institutions, promoting inclusive, gender-sensitive, and equitable land governance in West Nile. 🤝
