Don't let the 'shiny objects' distract you. Senate needs to do ONE thing to Make America Great Again. Thune must be replaced with an America First Senator. Not sure who. I just know it's not Thune.

WRONG.. and it’s ironic because this completely ignores what the bill actually does. It does NOT block deportations. Recent arrivals (who came under Biden) are deportable. Criminals are deportable. No exceptions so ICE can focus on their important mission. This section ensures people eligible for the Dignity Program (must have evidence of being here BEFORE 2021) are not deported while they are applying for Dignity Program. If they fail to meet processing requirements, they will be deported. However, the 24 month timeline is likely too long. It can be shortened significantly to sync up with the time needed to stand up the Dignity program. That’s how legislating works… it gets refined. And yes, I welcome the feedback. As my #1 fan @basedMikeLee can tell you, we are on the 3rd(?) version of the SAVE America Act because small changes to text actually have big implications. Most bills are amended along the way.

@RepMariaSalazar I read it. Sec. 2303(d) basically blocks all deportations by ICE. x.com/WallStreetMav/…

This is a new idea, modeled on the Rural Physician Loan Repayment program AND we’re open to feedback. It’s not core to the bill. And with new funding for DHS personnel under H.R. 1, the OBBB, it may not even be necessary. Bottom line: we’re focused on what matters: enforcement, accountability, and getting this right.
Brick Suit@Brick_Suit

@RepMariaSalazar Ok. I read your "Dignidad" act. What's up with the part where lawyers get their loans forgiven for defending illegals? You want taxpayers to fund lawyers to give illegal aliens permanent residency! Screw you and your Spanish language "Dignidad" act.

Dear @Pontifex, any chance that you might take a position against those who are exterminating Christians in many countries? They seem to be adherents of one particularly peaceful religion. Does their violence get a pass from you?
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifex

God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.

One federal law (18 U.S.C. 611) prohibits noncitizens from voting in U.S. elections Another federal law (the NVRA) makes it easy for noncitizens to register & vote—even though it’s illegal The SAVE America Act would fix that, making it easy for citizens—and hard for noncitizens—to register & vote

On this day in 1865, Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant. Lee showed up dressed in his best, looking like a dignified gentleman. Grant was covered in mud after riding all morning. Before anything was signed, the two men spoke about their shared service in the Mexican War -- a reminder that Confederates and Union soldiers were nonetheless countrymen tied by mystic chords of memory. Grant did not create terms of surrender to humiliate the South. Grant and Lincoln understood that to unify the nation, you could not imprison half of it. Confederates were allowed to keep their sidearms and personal horses. When Grant learned that Lee's men were quite literally starving after having not eaten for days, he ordered 25,000 rations sent to them immediately. Lee said this would have "a very happy effect" on his men. When Lee rode away after signing terms of surrender, Union soldiers cheered. Grant forced them to stop, reminding Union soldiers that Confederates were "now our countrymen" and there would be no cheering over their downfall. (In fact, days later when actual ceremonial surrender occurred, Union Gen. Josh Chamberlain reportedly ordered his men to salute passing Confederates as a sign of respect) Lee also worked diligently to stop Confederates from waging guerrilla warfare, encouraging them to set their arms aside and return home and in peace. He was a titan in his own right. If the spirit of 1865 had been driven by the urge to shame and punish, the Union would not have lasted. So many people today misunderstand that and as such, they try to rewrite America history. God Bless America.

Justice Sotomayor spoke at the University of Kansas School of Law on Tuesday.  She addressed the Court’s emergency docket decision which allowed immigration-related stops.  According to USA Today, she used the opportunity to take an extraordinarily personal shot at Justice Kavanaugh:  “I had a colleague in that case who wrote, you know, these are only temporary stops,” Sotomayor said, referencing Kavanaugh's concurring opinion, though she did not name him explicitly. “This is from a man whose parents were professionals. And probably doesn’t really know any person who works by the hour.” I cannot express how unprofessional this is.  Justices Sotomayor and Jackson are quickly converting their seats on the Court into little more than mean-girl platforms.

This tweet cites a Daily Beast re-write of another article, filled with anonymous sources who clearly lied, because the story has now been totally rebuked by both the Pentagon and by Cardinal Christophe Pierre. This is 100% garbage Fake News. The reporters who wrote it should immediately retract their stories, and the “influencers” who fell for it should delete their tweets.👇
Shawn Ryan@ShawnRyan762

The Pentagon summoned the Pope's ambassador, told him the United States has the military power to do "whatever it wants," and warned that the Church better take its side. They even invoked the Avignon Papacy, a dark chapter in history when a government used military force to bend the Church to its will. So where exactly does this end? If the Pope refuses to fall in line, what's the next move, bomb the Vatican? thedailybeast.com/trump-official…

This is day 1 of asking @LeaderJohnThune to pass the SAVE Act. Whereas proof of citizenship is not required to register to vote; Whereas Texas found thousands of illegal aliens on its voter rolls; Whereas states like CA, OR, & WA, give Driver’s Licenses to illegal aliens; Whereas Minnesota allows for 1 registered voter to vouch for 8 other persons without an ID; Whereas the American people demand fair elections; Whereas restoring confidence in our elections would inspire more Americans to vote; Whereas federal elections begin in Wisconsin February 2026; Now, therefore, be it resolved that Senate Majority Leader Thune should swiftly bring forth a vote on the SAVE Act and utilize every means to pass the bill with a simple majority vote.

I do not support amnesty, and I’ve never co-sponsored H.R. 4393, the ‘Dignity Act.' I have a 100% rating from Numbers USA, because of my strong stance against illegal immigration. Let’s clear this up right now. The lies being spread are fake and have been debunked.

🚨 WATCH: Byron Donalds Responds to “Mass Amnesty” Allegations - “That’s NOT True." Our reporter, @alisonintheknow, confronted @ByronDonalds about a clip circulating online that some claim shows him supporting mass amnesty. His response? “That’s not true. I’ve never supported mass amnesty. Let me see the clip.” He immediately reviewed the clip and clarified: - He supports securing the border first - He opposes birthright citizenship - He wants to end chain migration and return to a quota-based system And he made clear: “My position hasn’t changed.” @ByronDonalds says he’s willing to have honest conversations - but amnesty is not on the table.
