Did you know? The linen wrappings of Christ play a crucial role in the Resurrection story🇻🇦 On that first Easter morning, the disciples raced to the empty tomb. John (the youngest) reached the tomb first and saw the linen burial cloths lying there. But the face cloth that had been on Jesus’ head was neatly folded and set apart by itself. (John 20:4-7) No grave robber would fold anything so carefully. It was a deliberate, loving sign of something profound... look at this powerful parallel in the Passover Seder that Jesus shared with His disciples the night before His crucifixion: ⚡During the Seder, the leader takes the middle piece of matzah (unleavened bread), breaks it, wraps the larger half in a linen cloth, and hides it. This is called the Afikomen (“that which comes after”). ⚡In Jewish tradition, it is the youngest child who is given the special task of searching for and finding the hidden Afikomen. Once found, it is brought back, “redeemed,” and eaten by everyone as the final dessert, signaling the end of the Passover ritual. ⚡Jesus, our Passover Lamb, was broken for us on the cross. His body was wrapped in linen and hidden in the tomb for three days. Then He rose, leaving the linen neatly folded. ⚡And just as the youngest is the one who finds the hidden Afikomen... it was John, the youngest disciple, who reached the empty tomb first! This isn’t coincidence. It’s God’s beautiful, intricate plan woven through centuries of Jewish tradition, all pointing to Jesus the Messiah. “This is My body, broken for you...” Jesus declared while holding that very Passover bread. He is risen! The folded linen tells us the story is not over, He is coming back again.

In 500 B.C., the prophet Zechariah recorded a bizarre, highly specific vision. He prophesied that the True Shepherd would be rejected, and His price would be weighed out at exactly 30 pieces of silver. Then, God told Zechariah: "Throw it to the potter—the magnificent price at which they valued me!" Half a millennium passes. The Roman Empire rises. Judas Iscariot negotiates the assassination of the King. The Pharisees don't give him 29 coins. They don't give him 31. They hand him exactly 30 pieces of silver. When Judas realizes he has damned his soul, he breaks. He runs back to the Temple, throws the silver onto the stone floor, and hangs himself. The priests refuse to put blood money back into the treasury. So what do they do with it? They use it to buy the Potter's Field. Secular historians call the Bible a collection of myths. They completely ignore the terrifying, mathematical impossibility of divine prophecy. Judas thought he was a mastermind making a shrewd, secret political deal in the dark. He didn't realize he was just an arrogant actor hitting his mark on a stage that was built 500 years before he existed. You do not outsmart the Author of History.

Pope Leo XIV in a message to the French Bishops, tells them to find generous solutions to include those attached to the Traditional Latin Mass: “Dear brothers, you finally intend to address the delicate subject of the Liturgy, to which the Holy Father is particularly attentive, in the context of the growth of communities bound to the Vetus Ordo. It is troubling that a painful wound concerning the celebration of Mass, the very sacrament of unity, continues to open in the Church. To heal it, a new way of looking at one another, with a greater understanding of each other's sensitivities, is certainly necessary; a way of looking that can allow brothers, enriched by their diversity, to welcome one another in charity and the unity of faith. May the Holy Spirit suggest to you concrete solutions that will allow for the generous inclusion of those sincerely attached to the Vetus Ordo, in accordance with the guidelines established by the Second Vatican Council regarding the Liturgy.”

.@BishopBambera why are you leaking false claims about @CarriePrejean1 to the so-called @USCCB? Is it because she dared quote Holy Scripture and call out heretical Christian Zionism’s role in Gaza’s genocide and endless wars? You should take a hard look in the mirror. Aren’t you the same Bishop Joseph Bambera who, as Vicar for Clergy under Bishop Timlin, helped cover up “Father Ned” (Rev. Robert Gibson)? The priest who admitted abusing a minor, yet your diocese ignored its own policy, didn’t report him to authorities, sent him to “treatment,” then reassigned him—where he got caught grooming another child. Didn’t you admit this failure under oath in a 2007 civil trial? The 2018 Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report called out the “playbook” of concealment in Scranton that you were part of. Weren’t you even named in 2020 lawsuits by victims of another abusive priest, Fr. Michael Pulicare, alleging both you so-called "bishops" knew and did nothing? Joe, maybe stop smearing Christians who are young in their faith because they rightly oppose endless war and start owning your own record of shielding predators and pedophiles. If you want to pick on someone, drop me a line;

@BishopBambera is making false claims about me to bishops @USCCB. He should spend less time misrepresenting me and more time condemning the heretical false teaching of Christian Zionism which is responsible for supporting a genocide in Gaza and cheering on the war in Iran. False teaching has deadly consequences. We’re witnessing it now. I’d rather be name called than stay quiet while the U.S. is bombing an all girls school on behalf of Israel.

FATHER DOLINDO RUOTOLO A Prophet of our Time Father Don Dolindo Ruotolo was a Neapolitan priest stigmatized miracle worker and “mouthpiece of the Holy Spirit”. Father Ruotolo had extraordinary communications with Jesus throughout his heroic life, a life that was totally devoted to God and Holy Mother Mary. He referred to himself as “the Madonna’s little old man” and the Rosary was his constant companion. Much of what our Lord wants flies in the face of normal human inclination and reason. We can only rise to this level of thinking through the grace of God and the help of the Holy Spirit. We must let go of our problems, stop worrying, and trying to resolve them ourselves. We must believe, trust, and allow our Lord to rescue us from ourselves and supply our wants, needs and resolve our problems as only He can. Jesus, You take care of it, should be the first words that come to mind and flow from our lips. After all, we have tried to do things our way and look where it has got us. Just do as the prayer says, open our hearts and minds in love and close our eyes in trust, and ask Jesus to take care of it. He will. On November 19, 1970 ,Don (Fr) Dolindo Ruotolo died at the age of 88. Padre Pio once said of this priest from Naples, Italy, The whole of paradise is in your soul. His name “Dolindo” means “Pain” and his life was rich with this pain. As a child, a teenager, a seminarian and a priest, he experienced humiliation, which was the realization of the prophetic words of a bishop who said You will be a martyr, but in your heart, not with your blood. In his profound humility, he was able to hear the words of God. Even with his hidden life, he was one of the greatest prophets of the last century. He wrote to Bishop Hnilica in 1965 that a new John will rise out of Poland with heroic steps to break the chains beyond the boundaries imposed by the communist tyranny. On this postcard, he wrote words of consolation for Poland and all the countries suffering under the communist regime. This prophecy was realized in the papacy of John Paul II. In his tremendous suffering, Dolindo became more and more a child who lived his self-offering to the Divine Father. I am totally poor, a poor nothing. My strength is my prayer. My leader is the will of God, which I let take me by the hand. My security over the uneven path is the heavenly mother Mary. One of the treasures from the words that Jesus spoke to Dolindo was the teaching about total abandonment to God. In this novena, Jesus is talking to Don Dolindo and also to you. THE SURRENDER NOVENA Given by Jesus to Fr. Dolindo Ruotolo O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10 times)

ST CHARBEL LEAVES FINGERPRINTS ON RAYMOND NADERS ARM🇻🇦🫲🏽 Raymond Nader is a Lebanese Catholic Maronite citizen born in Ghineh, Mount Lebanon on the 10th of November 1961 and is married with three children. He graduated from the Jesuit University in Lebanon with a degree in Electro-mechanical engineering. He then left Lebanon to work in the United Kingdom where he specialised in Nuclear physics. One day Raymond began to search through science and technology for answers concerning creation, the universe and God’s mystery. The mystery of the Eucharistic Sacrament has always perplexed Raymond since his childhood. His grandfather being a priest has encouraged him to search for the truth and to find answers revolving around the Sacrament of the Eucharist. The questions Raymond kept asking himself were “Does God truly exist? Where is He? Is Christ really the Son of God? Was He truly crucified? Did he die and rise from the dead? Why does God become incarnate? How does the bread that we bake become the Holy Body of Christ when the priest prays on it? And why people after receiving it, are supposed to love each other and God? In 1985, Raymond started searching for answers for his questions, persevered in his prayers and attended regular spiritual retreats in hermitages in particular the St Peter and St Paul hermitage of Annaya, Mount Lebanon. This hermitage in Annaya was the place where St Charbel used to pray, meditate, fast, work and sleep. On the eve of November 9th, 1994, Raymond arrived at St Peter and St Paul hermitage in Annaya, Mount Lebanon carrying the Holy Bible and five candles in a bag. He lit the candles and began his prayers and meditations. Suddenly, he started to feel changes in his surroundings. The wind grew stronger, the temperature began to rise and the flames of the 5 candles stopped flickering but continued to burn with no motion. Raymond said “I tried to reason scientifically, but I thought I might be dreaming or hallucinating. Suddenly I lost my five senses. There was no more warmth, wind or flames. I was in a different world, a world bathed in light. Not the usual light we know, not white, but transparent like crystal water. The light didn’t come from a specific direction, but from everywhere. It was a billion times brighter than the light of the Sun…In that light I felt a Presence, I couldn’t see it, but I was aware of it”. Then a voice replied, “No, you are not dreaming, you are more awake than ever”. Raymond continued, “The Voice came from nowhere and yet from everywhere. I heard it in every part of me, not with my physical ears. It expressed itself to me with no words, no sounds. The Presence presented itself to me as a “feeling” of deep peace, and joy and love. At a certain moment I felt that this experience had come to an end. I wanted this joy and peace to last for ever, and if the Presence couldn’t stay, I wished at least it would take me with it; but He made me understand that He is always here.” Gradually Raymond returned to normal consciousness and said, “I looked at the candles with astonishment, they were totally consumed. My watch indicated that four hours had passed in a blink of an eye. I left the hermitage and on the way to my car I felt heat in my arm. I thought it might be a scratch or an animal’s sting. But the heat grew stronger. I took off my pullover and in the light of my car saw five fingerprints on my arm, showing every detail of human fingers including the wrinkles and the nails. It was very hot but there was no pain at all only itching. For five days it oozed blood and water.” Dr Nabil Hokayem, a plastic surgeon and one of the most famous surgeons in Lebanon, confirmed that it was a second degree burn.

Fun Fact: Eileen Gu was born when her mother was over 40. Gu has no father (or her father was not involved), she took her mother’s last name. The only thing we know is that she is a hapa. Her mom is a genetic biologist. Plus, Eileen Gu and Alysa Liu grew up in the same community and have known each other since childhood. Seems like both of them were lab-made.

UNSHAKEN FAITH: Former U.S. Sen. Ben Sasse says he's at peace with his terminal cancer diagnosis. "We felt amazingly blessed that Melissa, my wife, and I immediately were at peace about all this," he said. "But because one of our three kids is still at home — our girls are 24 and 22, and my son's 14 — you felt like you had an obligation to try to fight a little bit." "The foolishness of our works are pretty apparent to you when you try to really look at the accounting of a life," Sasse says. "Jesus did everything on the cross to fulfill the whole law. I fulfilled none of it. He fulfilled all of it."

The month of January is dedicated to the Holy Name of Jesus, which is celebrated on January 3. “In the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those that are in heaven, on earth and under the earth" (Phil 2:10). Christ's name is chosen in heaven, and the Angel Gabriel announces it when he informs the Blessed Virgin of the incarnation: "Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb and shalt bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus". It is a name that has marvelous implications, for it means "savior." The very name bespeaks the magnitude of His mission, His infinite love, a love that will cause Him to offer Himself up for us. IHC is the abbreviation of the Greek ΙΗΣΟUΣ, i.e., Jesus (the first three letters of the word). The older form for the Greek sigma, S, resembled our capital C. In Christian antiquity this monogram does not occur too frequently and may not be older than the fifth century. In recent centuries the IHS has been falsely interpreted as Jesus Hominum Salvator, or even Jesu humilis societas (and regarded as a colophon for the Society of Jesus). Another interpretation that is sometimes made is In Hoc Signo (vinces), and out of the added v (for vinces) three nails are formed.

Veni Creator Spiritus is a revered Latin hymn attributed to Rabanus Maurus, a 9th-century Frankish Benedictine monk. This ancient invocation of the Holy Spirit holds particular significance today (January 1), the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God and the beginning of the new year. In Catholic tradition, reciting or singing the hymn publicly on New Year’s serves as a prayer for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and blessings in the year ahead. It also grants a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions: sacramental confession, Eucharistic Communion, prayer for the Pope’s intentions, and complete detachment from sin. A partial indulgence applies to recitation at any time.

The Christmas Octave is an eight-day liturgical celebration extending from December 25, the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord, to January 1 inclusive, the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God. This period prolongs the joy of Christ’s Incarnation, following the ancient tradition of octaves rooted in biblical practices. During these days, the Gloria is recited at Mass, and the liturgy retains a Christmas focus while commemorating specific feasts: Saint Stephen the First Martyr on December 26, Saint John the Apostle and Evangelist on December 27, the Holy Innocents on December 28, and the Holy Family on the Sunday within the octave (or December 30 if no Sunday occurs). The octave invites the faithful to prolong contemplation of the mystery of the Incarnation and its immediate implications, including martyrdom, apostolic witness, innocence, and family life in light of Christ’s birth. It forms the initial part of the broader Christmas season, which continues until the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. This structured prolongation underscores the Church’s tradition of allowing profound mysteries to unfold gradually in the liturgy. Today, December 26, 2025, marks the second day of the octave, dedicated to Saint Stephen.

Wine is blessed on the Feast of St. John the Apostle and Evangelist (December 27) because according to legend, St. John was served poisoned wine, but survived because he blessed the wine before he put it to his lips; the poison rose from the chalice in the shape of a serpent. In his happy memory, Catholics bring wine to church, which the priest blesses, turning it into a sacramental called the “Love of St. John.” Catholics use this sacramental wine for special occasions throughout the year and to give to the sick. The wine is also a symbol of the great love of Christ that filled St. John’s heart with loyalty, courage and enthusiasm for his Master. He alone of all the apostles was not afraid to stay close to Jesus during the Passion and Crucifixion and he was the only Apostle not martyred. At least some of the wine blessed on the feast should be enjoyed on the day of the feast itself. When it is drunk on his Feast Day, we drink it before dinner as a toast to St. John. The Father of the house lifts his glass toward Mother and says, “I drink you the love of St. John.” The Mother replies “I thank you for the Love of St. John” and then turns to the oldest child, lifts her glass, and says, “I drink you the love of St. John…”—and on it goes down the line until each has been toasted. ✝️✝️✝️✝️✝️✝️✝️✝️✝️✝️✝️✝️ Blessing of Wine on the Feast of St. John, Apostle and Evangelist At the end of the principal Mass on the feast of St. John, Apostle and Evangelist, after the last Gospel, the priest, retaining all vestments except the maniple, blesses wine brought by the people. This is done in memory and in honor of St. John, who drank without any ill effects the poisoned wine offered to him by his enemies. Prayer: P: Our help is in the name of the Lord. All: Who made heaven and earth. P: The Lord be with you. All: May He also be with you. Let us pray. If it please you, Lord God, bless + and consecrate + this vessel of wine (or any other beverage) by the power of your right hand; and grant that, through the merits of St. John, apostle and evangelist, all your faithful who drink of it may find it a help and a protection. As the blessed John drank the poisoned potion without any ill effects, so may all who today drink the blessed wine in his honor be delivered from poisoning and similar harmful things. And as they offer themselves body and soul to you, may they obtain pardon of all their sins; through Christ our Lord. All: Amen. Lord, bless + this creature drink, so that it may be a health-giving medicine to all who use it; and grant by your grace that all who taste of it may enjoy bodily and spiritual health in calling on your holy name; through Christ our Lord. All: Amen. May the blessing of almighty God, Father, Son, + and Holy Spirit, come on this wine (or any other beverage) and remain always. All: Amen. It is sprinkled with holy water. If the blessing is given privately outside of Mass, the priest is vested in surplice and stole and performs the ceremony as given above.
