The SOHO (Standard Oxygen versus High-Flow Oxygen Therapy in Acute Hypoxemic Respiratory Failure) is so bad.
They compared HFNC to non-rebreather masks at 12 lpm - hardly “standard oxygen therapy.”
They anticipated a 33% reduction in mortality, and by their own admission were wildly underpowered.
Yet they did find a marked reduction in intubation + improved patient comfort with HFNC.
The classic poorly designed “negative trial” that is actually positive and practice affirming (assuming you use HFNC…)

Today the potent LDL cholesterol lowering drugs are vs PCSK9 and are injectables or require an intravenous infusion. In the future a pill will be able to achieve similar results and add to the options. Results of a placebo-controlled randomized trial @NEJM

Steve Mason, one of the greatest Josephus scholars, has devoted a 25-page article to my book. He says my case for the authenticity of the Testimonium Flavianum appears “strong” and “must be taken seriously." He's not keen on part 2 regarding Josephus' sources, but I am pleased!

I visited Woodley Elementary and met an inspiring principal, dedicated teachers, and committed students. With a 96% attendance rate and rising reading and math scores, they’re proof positive what’s possible when we invest in our kids’ literacy, support our educators, and hold ourselves accountable for progress.
Let’s take what’s working in Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana and make it the national standard. Our kids and their parents deserve nothing less.
