I’m sorry, friend, but I don’t think they would. I understood exactly what Nora O’Donnell was doing. You would normally ask sympathetic questions to a president who has survived a terrifying assassination attempt and has now just endured another. Instead, O’Donnell was clearly going in for the attack. She repeated not just what was in the shooter’s manifesto, but also a standard leftwing talking point and pressed the president to respond to them as if they were legitimate. I would have lost my temper too.

I don't know why Trump blamed the journalist for asking about the allegations in the would-be assassin's manifesto. They were disgusting allegations, yes, but any reporter would ask for POTUS's response. He was unfair to Norah O'Donnell. axios.com/2026/04/26/tru…

So I will confess that I broke down and cried a little bit when I saw @DouthatNYT’s interview with @BenSasse. While going through cancer treatment, I have had such a strong preoccupation with how it would impact my looks. I have wanted to keep it together and maintain an attractive front as well as I can. I saw Sasse here and it just made me feel how stupid such a petty, vain concern has been when the real fight we’ve been facing is whether my daughters will have to finish growing up without me! (and right now, all signs are positive there, and we’re thanking God!) But this is actually one of the reasons I sent in a couple requests to interview Sasse. Because I’m wondering how much this is a difference between men and women thing and how much it may just be a Christian maturity thing. I’d have some deeper questions too, but I do think the way a Christian who is a husband and father faces cancer may be different than how a wife and mother does. And you would approach stage four in a different spiritual posture than a terminal diagnosis in some ways. Anyway, I just feel like there would be lots for us to talk about!
