In my latest for @myfairobserver, I argue that Pakistan’s challenge in facilitating US–Iran diplomacy goes beyond policy disagreements. Washington seeks urgency, visible progress, and rapid deliverables. Tehran operates through strategic patience, calibrated leverage, and deep mistrust shaped by decades of confrontation. When adversaries negotiate on fundamentally different political clocks, mediation becomes harder, and sustainable diplomacy requires phased reciprocity, credible guarantees, verification, and better alignment of incentives.
