Japan surrendered because 1.5 million Russians invaded not because of a “nuclear bomb.” These are little facts that if known you may not make horrible mistakes that plunge the world into famine

@optics_prime @OwenBenjamin A third bomb was ready one week later. Three more were available in September and three more were ready in October. It's really easy to look up.

@OwenBenjamin Nuclear bomb was just a sideshow as the communication lines to Hiroshima and Nagasaki were severed leaving the government in the dark about it's fate for days. Also the USA did not have an endless supply of nukes, they shot their wad with the 2 they had.

@OwenBenjamin @MattWalshBlog Matt Walsh is giving off very feminine energy. His whole schtick nowadays is to act outraged at random things that really don't matter. What value is he adding to the conversation?

The fact that “space is fake” is an actual position held by a measurable number of people really proves that we’re in the middle of a retard epidemic. There are people walking around today who somehow have a worse understanding of astronomy than the average Sumerian in the year 3,000 BC. What would it even mean for space to be fake? What, the atmosphere just stretches on forever into eternity? Or is there a roof over the world? Or do you get up really high and accidentally end up in Heaven? How do these retards think it works?
SNAPtok@EBTtok

@MattWalshBlog The ‘space is fake’ black pillers are so obnoxious. It always comes down to a fundamental misunderstanding of physics and technology.

I mostly avoid commenting on what President Trump says from day to day, while pulling no punches in my assessments, whether positive or negative, of his policy. His Iran ultimatums feel different. Making such threats is a policy. If he were to follow through on them, the consequences would be immediate, irreversible, and catastrophic on a world-historical scale. So while some will inevitably insist he should be “taken seriously rather than literally,” or that he is executing a sophisticated “madman” strategy in a complex game of 5-D chess, or that he needs everyone’s steadfast support to maximize his leverage, now rather than later seems the time to say that the actions that he is proposing would be a disaster for our country, both strategically and morally, which makes the remarks themselves a terrible mistake. Simply put, what’s the point of all this? If these are empty threats that we all know he will not carry out, then they are ineffective threats (the Iranians are on X too!), merely making the president and our nation look foolish. If they are not empty threats, then the president is asserting the American position that such actions are acceptable in this situation and ones we are willing to take. We are not living in some quantum thought experiment where he simultaneously is and is not serious. We cannot expect the Iranians, but only the Iranians, will believe him. Whether the threats are empty or not, we should be willing to say: This is wrong. We should not establish a pattern of threatening escalation from a blockaded strait to elimination of a civilization. We should not launch strikes intended to devastate the lives of millions of people and take our nation to total war without indisputable justification, or before the American people have deliberated upon and assented to the path with full understanding of what total war might mean for them. Those principles are vital to our Republic, independent of whether the strategy could “work.” But it’s also worth emphasizing that the strategy is a dead end. This war is actively weakening American power, increasing the danger to American citizens, and frustrating the president’s important efforts at addressing our many domestic challenges. It has closed a strait that was previously open, strengthened the incentive for other nations to pursue nuclear weapons, and in this most recent rhetoric made more plausible their use. Our choices for continuing the war appear to be catastrophic escalation of the air war or extensive deployment of ground troops, neither of which were planned or had support at the outset. Stepping back from these threats and admitting such actions do not offer a path to resolving the conflict may be unpalatable, but it is by far the least unpalatable option available. Let us all hope cooler heads prevail.

I don't believe the Earth is flat, yet I seem to be the only person around here who has actually VERIFIED this experimentally, using optical measurements of the size of the moon from the point of view of Earth. The measurements easily disprove Flat Earth theory as it is popularly described. Yet, nearly 100% of those who mock flat Earth people have NEVER bothered to check it out themselves. They just stupidly believe whatever NASA and their high school science teacher told them, without testing anything or thinking critically. At least the flat Earth people are willing to ask questions about the nature of our world. It's not retarded to ask questions. It's retarded to stupidly believe whatever "authorities" tell you without checking it out yourself. The vast majority of people today just automatically believe the CDC, the FDA, NASA, the White House, etc., without a single critical thought. And then they call other people stupid for daring to challenge the status quo. If you've actually PROVEN that the Earth isn't flat, firsthand, through logic and reason and observable evidence, then I give you kudos. But almost nobody has done that. Chime in if you have!

I also can't stop thinking about how this might be the greatest missed opportunity in marketing history if Apple doesn't have a billboard of these saying "Shot on iPhone" lol NASA astronauts have been allowed to use their phones in space, and Commander Reid Wiseman and Mission Specialist Christina Koch uploaded these photos shot on an iPhone 17 Pro Max SELFIE camera

@9mmsmg Japanese govt and society have a lot of social democrat values that ya’ll typically dislike. One thing that keeps society stable at the lower end is the robust social safety net here. Also Japan is in no danger of being ‘overtaken’. Generally the only way in is via airlines

I think a lot of people don't understand the fascination much of the American right has with Japan. It's not so much that we are obsessed with Japanese culture, as fun and interesting as it is. It's simply because it's like looking into the kind of country we could have had. A homogenous nation with shared culture and values. Low violent crime, clean streets, great food. It's everything we want. Visiting Japan is like window shopping in stores we can't afford. You go there and see that our dreams are actually entirely feasible, but we failed to allow ourselves to happen. You can walk down the street in a city and not worry about a 75 IQ gang banger killing you. You don't need to worry non stop about getting mugged by someone who is barely functional enough to form a coherent sentence. You can walk down the street and not see trash everywhere. Everything doesn't stink of weed. Everyone isn't constantly loud and angry. It's like a mirror with a filter on it. It shows us what life could be. To the people of Japan, I can't stress this enough, you must protect your nation and never let it change. Do not allow it to be overtaken by foreigners. Do not slip. You will end up destroyed like us.

@Nohkz_GG @deaflibertarian Snake oil implies products that don't work as described. Which Musk products don't work?? From what I can see, everything he makes exceeds expectations, if not on day one, eventually! He stands by his products, and I'm not even a customer.

It’s really weird for Theo Von to throw out racial slurs at Whites on this seeing as combat arms is mostly White, because for the most part only White people are willing to fight and die for America to begin with. Nons mainly just join safer, more secure roles for the benefits.
