I've done several threads on what it costs to produce a garment in the United States—fused suits ~$600, half canvassed suits ~$1,000, button-up shirts ~$150. These are not inflated margins, as I've done the cost breakdowns for you.

People assume margins in the clothing industry are super high; they are not. The fashion industry runs on glamour, but the people who work behind the scenes are poorly paid. Reason why it's hard to reshore clothing jobs is simple: ppl don't want to pay a lot for clothes

@dieworkwear This is short sighted BS, take a look at margins of these overseas garment producers . I grew up in NC furniture m/textile belt. These factories paid a living wage and were profitable, for some reason that’s not possible now. Please explain.
