@MarkSharon_DP @willnorman @Royal_Greenwich @TfL Rights attract responsibilities. Choices are based on self interest. We do not need lifts, people offer them. Dare I say this…car ownership is programmed into minds.Getting about by public transport, cycling or walking is easy.Reducing carbon release travel is an aim.🌍

@nanddfoster @willnorman @Royal_Greenwich @TfL Any decent community does that but people have to own a car for the lifts to work. You have opted to fit your life around those choices. Others have the right to make other choices.

Cycling is booming in London with more people choosing a green, clean, healthy & affordable way of getting around. We're expanding LDN's Cycleway network to make cycling easier & safer. Great to see progress on the new Cycleway 4 extension in Greenwich. @Royal_Greenwich @TfL

@MarkSharon_DP @willnorman @Royal_Greenwich @TfL You sound aggressive, but can be forgiven because we did not explain that lifts are shared between a community of friends. I am looking after someone’s garden and chickens whilst they are away. We, like you, trade in kind acts to help each other. All the best Mark. 🥰🚴🏾‍♀️

@SaveukChurches @Jenny_1884 Population increase? More cultures and incomers to U.K. with variant thinking? Integration is very important. Laws and regulation need to be respected. Digital world has changed planet Earth, shrinking timing and delivery of communication. A fast, frenetic & disordered world?

I’m 64yrs old & have never known in my lifetime a government that hates their own country & their own people like this Labour Government does. It’s pretty scary what they are doing to their own country & their own people. Evil doesn’t come close enough. These disgusting people should be in prison not in government.

@willnorman @Royal_Greenwich @TfL Cycling is 'booming'? Is it really? People are cycling but walking less and not taking public transport. The average 'new cyclist' never drove. Many can't drive. Many have no idea about the HWC.

@willnorman @Royal_Greenwich @TfL Great news from Will. I have just cycled to/from a local market and filled the bicycle panniers with items. Nothing better than getting up early, commuting or visiting venues with the right type of lifestyle bicycle. CAR(E)FREE LIFE. ✅

@LeeHurstComic Why? Cyclists are much slower than motorised super fast vehicles. It takes time to move on leg powered pedals. All it takes is the learned skills of car driving such as safety, tolerance, waiting and remembering the vulnerability of cyclists and pedestrians. Invest in fietspads?

@francesca_kms Selfish, unthinking people are increasing year on year?Car use culture signifies something? Owning, acquiring & never sharing wealth or community help?In Holland/Nederlands children cycle to school, adults cycle to work, the government invests in fietspads for cyclists. Fit people?

When you see it, you can’t unsee it. No bus lane. 4 lanes for cars, 2 for parking, 2 for driving. Cars parked in the cycle lane. And some still blame bikes. Congestion costs London £3.85bn a year, yet we still prioritise parking over moving people.

@RadwegH U.K. traffic implosion point is now here. Pet names = gridlock, travel stress, collision incidents, growing obesity crisis (motoring is not exercise for the body), frequent fuel stops & expensive.Perhaps cycle, walk or share public transport. Brompton fold up bicycles=gym on wheels.

@RadwegH Agree. Most individuals in the U.K.expect to drive a car,own a car apiece in a household & drive a car everywhere as a journey. Often driving a car solo. Sharing a lift or community car scheme is not yet a norm? We cycle, walk, use trains, buses or lifts.Fold-up bikes = storage.

@Heccles94 Mockery is an ancient form of comedy to relieve the tensions of life.Check out variants of mockery in history. Chaucer,Shakespeare,P.G.Woodhouse, Spitting Image,Jasper Carrott, Billy Connolly & Victoria Wood to name a few. Agree that harming others is different to light-hearted.

UK motorists always struggle with the fact that even if you don't own a car, you are paying just as much for roads as car owners do.

@AndroidJack4k @BobFromAccounts Selfish nation? When asking a person if they would give up their two cars at home and pay the equivalent financial amount to run them in a health tax, they frowned. The use of buses, shared lifts, walking, cycling and taking a train were what we all used to do when less selfish.

@koenig_jakob @KirstieMAllsopp We are watching an unruly world with little regulation. A benevolent dictator or a Henry 8th style American President …who is Trump? The BBC are as confused as the rest of the world. In fact a collection of global Dictators is creating widespread oppression & misrule cultures?

@KirstieMAllsopp Imagine if Donald Trump himself - who pardoned every single one of the Capitol insurrectionists it is being claimed by some he didn't incite, and fabricates misleading video on an industrial scale - was held to this kind of standard. Or, indeed, any kind of standards whatsoever.

@terrychristian The real issue is a mentally disturbed man threatening people with a knife. So many disturbed minds in U.K., people roaming the streets alone or untreated for aggressive distress. So many people self medicating on illegal drugs, alcohol or unsupported with their mental health.

@LizWebsterSBF The majority British public voted for Brexit …52% for it; 48% against. Now the majority British public are increasing carbon release using travel to hasten global warming. Where is the adaptation plan? Perhaps education, information research & discussion is lacking in U.K.?

✈️ “I waited two hours because of Brexit.” British travellers are finally feeling the true cost of leaving the EU. New EES biometric checks fingerprints and facial scans now required for all non-EU arrivals are turning short flights into marathon queues. This is down to the Tory and now Labour govt’s decisions to choose for us to be a third country. Before Brexit, British passports waved through with minimal checks. Now? Fingerprints, face scans, and questions about how much money you’re carrying, the same treatment as any other third country. Brexit turned free movement into border bureaucracy and curbs for British people. Freedom of movement worked. Brexit broke it. #BrexitReality #EES #RejoinEEA #SaveBritishFarming archive.ph/2025.10.19-114…

@SarahInbarnet @willnorman We all age, history moves on,trends change & agree that wisdom is gained slowly. No jazz, no tennis courts, no bubble. Just learning about humans. Love creative thinking & people who can exchange dialogue sensibly. Have lived in a different country. Love people of all ages! Yay!

@nanddfoster @willnorman Now tell me you’re about 40 years older than me without telling me you’re 40 years older…the world has changed, perhaps not in your bubble but outside, it most definitely has….I also doubt the ability you allude to; a jazz band in every community? I doubt it. Tennis courts? 🤔

Well done to all the brilliant local councillors who have lowered the speed limits on their roads to 20mph - often in the face of much hostility. There is now irrefutable evidence to show your bold decisions are saving lives. Thank you!

@SarahInbarnet @willnorman Seems a reasonable statement applying to the majority of Brits. When bringing up our children we often shared resources & helped each other as parents.Instead of taking children to activities we brought everyone together & set up/or paid for active child learning. With safeguarding

@nanddfoster @willnorman Well unless I want to be homeless & live on the streets I have to work & I want my children to have opportunities so they attend various after school activities so I’m not sure it’s all entirely chosen but more a function of the system we live in which could be a whole lot better
