@nanddfoster @willnorman @Royal_Greenwich @TfL Any decent community does that but people have to own a car for the lifts to work. You have opted to fit your life around those choices. Others have the right to make other choices.

Cycling is booming in London with more people choosing a green, clean, healthy & affordable way of getting around. We're expanding LDN's Cycleway network to make cycling easier & safer. Great to see progress on the new Cycleway 4 extension in Greenwich. @Royal_Greenwich @TfL

I’m 64yrs old & have never known in my lifetime a government that hates their own country & their own people like this Labour Government does. It’s pretty scary what they are doing to their own country & their own people. Evil doesn’t come close enough. These disgusting people should be in prison not in government.

@Jenny_1884 The welfare bill is high.Benefit claiming is high.Taxes on the elite wealthy needs reviewing.Employment opportunities need priority to enable more people to work. Green technologies & training programmes for new generation workers set up. Food security sorted. 🌍 Climate = Adapt.

@willnorman @Royal_Greenwich @TfL Cycling is 'booming'? Is it really? People are cycling but walking less and not taking public transport. The average 'new cyclist' never drove. Many can't drive. Many have no idea about the HWC.

@LeeHurstComic Why? Cyclists are much slower than motorised super fast vehicles. It takes time to move on leg powered pedals. All it takes is the learned skills of car driving such as safety, tolerance, waiting and remembering the vulnerability of cyclists and pedestrians. Invest in fietspads?

Where this is a cycle lane and a cyclist rides out of it (other than to overtake another cyclist) they should be nicked, fined and banned from cycling for a period of time.

When you see it, you can’t unsee it. No bus lane. 4 lanes for cars, 2 for parking, 2 for driving. Cars parked in the cycle lane. And some still blame bikes. Congestion costs London £3.85bn a year, yet we still prioritise parking over moving people.

@RadwegH U.K. traffic implosion point is now here. Pet names = gridlock, travel stress,collision incidents,growing obesity crisis (motoring is not exercise for the body), frequent fuel stops & expensive.Perhaps cycle,walk or share public transport. Brompton fold up bicycles=gym on wheels.

@RadwegH Agree.Most individuals in the U.K.expect to drive a car,own a car apiece in a household & drive a car everywhere as a journey. Often driving a car solo. Sharing a lift or community car scheme is not yet a norm? We cycle, walk, use trains, buses or lifts.Fold-up bikes = storage.

UK motorists always struggle with the fact that even if you don't own a car, you are paying just as much for roads as car owners do.

The use of buses, shared lifts, walking, cycling and taking a train were what we all used to do when less selfish.

@terrychristian The real issue is a mentally disturbed man threatening people with a knife. So many disturbed minds in U.K., people roaming the streets alone or untreated for aggressive distress. So many people self medicating on illegal drugs, alcohol or unsupported with their mental health.

@SarahInbarnet @willnorman Seems a reasonable statement applying to the majority of Brits.When bringing up our children we often shared resources & helped each other as parents.Instead of taking children to activities we brought everyone together & set up/or paid for active child learning.With safeguarding

@nanddfoster @willnorman Well unless I want to be homeless & live on the streets I have to work & I want my children to have opportunities so they attend various after school activities so I’m not sure it’s all entirely chosen but more a function of the system we live in which could be a whole lot better
