@JokombaJibreel An Arab kid once rushed to call his father to come and see someone speaking like a newscaster when my friend was talking to him.

They’ll tell you to your face that you are speaking “The Quran language”
ناصرالدين@naslek

@JokombaJibreel The truth most people don't know is that the Arabs also have to learn the Quran like every other tribe for them to understand it. Most of them are surprised and impressed when they hear you speak the "Quran Arabic".

When I was there, prof sent me to extend his greetings to a lecturer at the university of madinah. Because I was staying there for just a short while, I had no Saudi SIM card, I could only surf the internet whenever I’m in my hotel room. The morning I was supposed to meet the lecturer, I had texted him on WhatsApp and we agreed to meet at the university. When I got to the gate, I spoke all the Arabic language I understood, the gatemen understood nothing, my ears where literally picking something entirely different from the Arabic I know. One asked me: مين غال لك تجي؟ I was just repeating “ehn, ehn, ehn”. At a point we both got tired of the exchange till another lecturer “sheikh muslih Al-haarithi” drove by and spoke correct Arabic language. That was when I realized I wasn’t the problem. An average Saudi arabian doesn’t even understand what’s in the Quran. Take this anywhere
Maruf Muhammed Esq@MarufMuhammed4

The Arabic spoken by most Arabs in Saudi Arabia was different from the Quranic one that we learned at Madrasah. I discovered there was a wide margin, and it was an Islamic Cleric who hailed from Saki that I met there who informed me that the type of Arabic most of the arabs speak in Saudi Arabia is the "pidgin Arabic". You won't know some things until you travel outside Nigeria. Some Alfas who have never left Nigeria and only read about Umrah/Hajj in books will come and argue with someone who has gone twice.

@Adamthallith Great, and nice observations. But that No 6 has changed, it's not impossible, there are now routes that can grant one the status of citizenship., difficult, but not impossible

12 Things I Found Surprising in the City of Mecca. 1. Many streets are named after the companions of the Prophet ﷺ. You constantly see streets names connected to early Islamic figures. 2. The Kaaba is far bigger than I imagined. What I had seen on TV and social media did not prepare me for what I saw with my own eyes. 3. Contrary to what I believed before coming, not all the water in Mecca is Zamzam water, even though Zamzam is widely available, there are other branded bottled water. 4. Throughout my stay in Mecca, I boarded about six taxis, and each time I connected to the driver’s Wi-Fi. Surprisingly, all of them had the same password: 12345678. 5. People in Saudi Arabia do not speak the exact Arabic of the Qur’an, a number of them do not understand it in fact. Like many languages, they speak their own local dialect. 6. No matter how long someone lives in Saudi Arabia, becoming a citizen is not possible. Citizenship is not granted to non-natives. 7. Mecca is a very hilly city. There are mountains and hills everywhere, that people actually build houses and neighborhoods on them. 8. For a country known for its desert landscape, there are plenty of fresh fruits available everywhere. 9. I saw many shops with “Buy 1 Get 1 Free” deals — so many that it almost seems like a normal marketing culture in the city. 10. The Qur’an is not sold inside Masjid al-Haram or in the immediate surroundings of the mosque, it is free. 11. In all the restaurants I visited, none of them had a woman as the chef. The chefs in every one of them were men. 12. Everyone wants to give you iftar and suhoor for free. Many people even insist — sometimes begging you — to take food from them, no matter how little it is.

I’m seeing the crowd in Saudi and I’m so worried. It’s the least excited I’ve been about travelling to the holy land. I will can’t fathom how I want to manage my goals for the last ten days.

I miss those days of building these things with you @naslek They upgraded most of the components but they still follow the same principles. The paste on the CPU before attaching the fan is a fundamental that didn't change too. Thank you 🙏

I'm excited to announce that I'm officially starting a new academic path! I've been admitted to King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals' (KFUPM) Direct PhD program. I'm thrilled to take on the challenge of moving straight from undergraduate study into doctoral research.

Saudi Arabia rarely offers Nigerian youth scholarships in fields like MBBS, IT, engineering, or technology. Instead, they will offer them scholarships to study bad Aqeedah. These same youth will return home, establish mosques, and use the pulpit to expel devoted Muslims from Islam. Nigeria continues to suffer from the legacy of Wahhabism.

It’s one thing to be PMP certified, but to be CSCP certified in addition, that’s a big “kill”. Toiled for two years, countless sleepless nights, now the victory is here, o ti zeh bayi, Congratulations Àgbàakin. Alihamdulilahi.
