@travelingflying I thought you were going to show gun and knife crimes. Would like to see those stats since it would relate to the quotes you showed.

Piers Morgan: ”Everyone in England used to have guns, now very few people have. And the consequence of that, we have almost 0 gun crimes.” Tucker Carlson: ”Oh, is London safe now!? 🤣” Piers Morgan: ”Now we have a knife crime epidemic.” Tucker Carlson: ”No, you have a people problem. It’s measurable. How many people got stabbed or shot in London in the ’70s? It’s a massive increase. The attitudes and actions of the people are totally different; you’ve got different people.” Yes. Here are figures for London, UK: 1960 98% White 0.01 Knife crime per 1,000 2025 36% White 1.82 Knife crime per 1,000

@DanCrenshawTX The reason why Democrats are freaking out right now about gerrymandering isn’t because they’re against gerrymandering. It’s because they’re almost tapped out on how many districts they can get through gerrymandering, while the Republicans still have a lot of room to go.

The gerrymandering debate always skips one inconvenient fact: Democrats dominated the redistricting game for decades and created wildly disproportionate representation in plenty of states.   California sends only a handful of Republicans to Congress. Illinois has a massive Democrat advantage. New England is a political monoculture. In all these states, congressional representation looks nothing like the actual partisan split of the voters.   But somehow the outrage only ramps up when Texas or Florida redraw maps.   If you want to reform the way district lines are drawn, go ahead and make the case. But don’t act like Republicans invented gerrymandering yesterday. And don’t pretend that whatever “independent” system you come up with won’t still be political in the end.

@kurps84518 @BTC_clips You can ask grok how many states have trifecta D and R, and how many us house districts are in those states. Maybe you can learn something?

"Democratic governors and state legislators need to realize that this is no longer about fairness; it’s about fighting back so that Democrats are not engineered out of the House forever. And I get that Democrats don’t have the stomach for this kind of warfare; find it. The time for good government solutions is long gone. Now it’s existential."

@NickyFrank30 Just need to change the state laws to copy-paste red state laws. No referendums and not court rejections if your laws allow it

@PSmurph @alexchristy17 Even now Ny is not gerrymandered as extremely as tx or fl. They tried after the census and got rejected. Meanwhile TN gerrymandered from 8-1 to 9-0 in just 2 days! I live in TN so don’t tell me about doing what they want… NY is not in the same ballpark as red states sorry

PBS host Amna Nawaz reacts to the Virginia Supreme Court by quoting Gavin Newsom, "He ends with this: 'Virginia's voter-approved maps are thrown out. MAGA has rigged the system.' David [Brooks] what do you make of that? Are Republicans rigging the system?" Brooks replied by saying everyone's terrible, "People have always been doing gerrymandering. It started getting worse in the 2010s, 2020s, when you had states like North Carolina, Maryland, Illinois, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania. These had totally rigged maps...The inhibition was, you only did it on the census, did it once every 10 years. So Trump blew through that restraint. And now you can redistrict whenever the hell you want to. And that's what Texas did. That's what Gavin Newsom did...And now we are stuck in a pseudo-democracy, where voters, when voting for House candidates, do not in most cases have the actual power to throw out a party that's doing badly. And so that democratic check is more or less gone." (1/2)

@SeanTrende can you point to an analysis that digs into which party gets more votes for house since 2000? Need to account for unopposed districts but you can’t just eliminate them, really should add the opposite parties assumed vote total based on presidential election.

@natelefko @briantylercohen @grok, how many state legislatures are controlled by Republicans vs Democrats? Gameplan out what the House seats would look like if all of the legislatures maximized partisan advantage in gerrymandering.

Virginia is "a wakeup call to Democrats across the country - in NJ, NY, MD, IL, OR, WA, CO - this is the time to start fighting back... Republicans don't believe that Democrats have the right to exist as a party. If we don't start fighting back as a party, we're going to good government ourselves into obscurity." h/t @Elex_Michaelson @CNNTheStoryIs

@Dystop1anFvtvre @briantylercohen What are you talking about? Texas and Florida do extreme gerrymandering. Cali and NY have laws against it and have not done the extreme gerrymandering until the recent Cali referendum. These are the largest states on both sides. They are not equal

🚨GROK's CONGRESSIONAL MAP: What would the MOST FAIR U.S. House map look like if we followed the Founding Fathers’ Principles? - Apportion seats strictly by population (census) - Draw compact, contiguous districts inside each state only - No partisan data, no racial engineering, no weird shapes - Prioritize whole counties & communities RESULT: A clean map with 265-285 R to 150-170 D seats in a 50/50 nation. Not gerrymandering - just geography. This is what neutral, compact redistricting naturally produces. The Founders wanted local geographic representation, not national proportional math. No salamanders. No tentacles. Just logical districts. True fairness under the Constitution isn’t forcing 50/50 seats. It’s letting Americans vote where they actually live. THIS MAP HONORS THE CONSTITUTION'S DESIGN. What do you think? MAP VIA: @JeremiahW2044

@alexchristy17 In fact Brooks is right. I live in Illinois. Gerrymandered Dem all the way, as is New England. The nutty Dem governor of Massachusetts said she was going to redistrict a state that has no GOP representatives.

@alexchristy17 They’re dishonest. Trump didn’t blow through this. First of all the census admits. It was rigged towards Democrats. Biden also demanded the census count illegals which skewed more seats for Dems. They say they undercounted Republicans. So why should we wait a decade to fix it?

If a future Democratic trifecta (LOL) does decide to pack SCOTUS, I think they should couple it with a constitutional amendment for 18 year term limits and cap the number at 13 permanently to prevent Republican retaliation

Michael A. Cohen (NOT TRUMP’S FORMER FIXER)
Democrats in Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, Maryland, New York, Oregon, and Washington will soon find themselves under enormous pressure to draw new maps in 2028 ... the gerrymandering arms race is actually going to get worse.
Lakshya Jain@lxeagle17

The bigger point is that this makes the House a 75/25 proposition to stay Republican in 2028 as things stand, which is a really meaningful bump. But for 2026, it's just not true that this decision makes the House a tossup. GOP has a better shot now, but it's still an outside one
