Delhi air quality audit flags key gaps⬇️ • Poor siting of monitoring stations. (trees, roads, buildings affecting data)
• 13/24 stations impacted by location issues.
• No lead monitoring in ambient air; limited checks (only 5 locations in 2022)
• Benzene monitoring at fuel stations still incomplete.
• Irregularities in PUC checks.
• Data discrepancies due to system issues. Fixes needed in terms of better station placement, consistent pollutant tracking, stronger data systems & strict enforcement. timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/delhi/mos… via @priyangiTOI @timesofindia

At 75 years of age—a time when most people choose comfort and rest—N.S. Rajappan has chosen a responsibility far greater than himself. For nearly a decade, this remarkable man has been cleaning plastic waste from Vembanad Lake in Kerala. Polio struck him when he was just five. Everything below his knees is paralysed, and he hasn’t walked since. Yet his determination is stronger than that of many able-bodied people. Every day, he rents a small boat and rows it using just one paddle. From morning till evening, he collects the plastic dumped into the lake. “They pay me ₹12 for every kilo of plastic I gather,” he says. It’s not enough to live on comfortably, but it’s enough for him to keep going—and enough for him to keep the lake clean. Rajappan lives in a tiny house beside his sister’s home. She cooks for him, but beyond that, he depends on no one. He does all his other chores himself and earns his own livelihood with dignity. During the 2018 floods, his house was washed away completely. Yet he never asked for help. For weeks, he lived in his boat—quietly, courageously. Is this what true patriotism looks like? Maybe this is the real love for one’s country. #Inspiration #India #UnsungHero

In 2026's Year of Pastoralists, Ladakh's Changpa nomads devout Buddhists, follow monks to keep sacred Tso Moriri pristine amid climate chaos. Nature's worth proven daily, no CBA needed vs industry impunity. #IYRP2026 @IlseKohler @Warriormomsin @BhavreenMK @MyZeroCarbon

The environment must be the only sector where one is constantly asked to prove, again and again, the worth of nature. All other sectors act with impunity but for the one that sustains life - cost benefit analyses are called for. That’s because industry runs the conversation.

SHOCKING: 'Treated' wastewater from Dehradun STP? Thick toxic foam + raw sewage stench pouring straight into Rispana River near Mothrowala today (05/03/2026)! STPs built to save our rivers, but bypass/partial treatment = ZERO pollution cut, just more poison downstream. Rivers dying while crores wasted on plans @uttarakhandpcb @pushkardhami @CPCB_OFFICIAL @cleanganganmcg @dmdehradun
