@geerlingguy It's does male a certain amount of sense. Generally a wired connection is going to be more reliable, and routing over multiple connections of any type is not a trivial problem to solve. So why not prefer wired if available?

TIL that Windows is set to not connect to WiFi if there's an active Ethernet connection. That seems dumb as a default.

@froodie Also happened to me. I was recovering before I finally tested positive. A bit tired for a day or two after, but thankfully it was fairly mild. Similar situation for other family and friends.

@mneylon A lot. It's been there for ages, and with cruise control set to 120kph, there's a constant stream of overtaking cars!

My RSS feed is showing with each item appearing once (if I `curl jeffgeerling.com/blog.xml`), but many people are reporting my articles appear twice in their feed readers after I switched over to Cloudflare. What could be causing that? Feedly doesn't seem to have an issue.

@ndonegan No, I've been strictly www. and https:// for years now — always had redirects for both

@TheSamBaldwin @noIPv6 Are you on a residential or business connection? If residential I'd be wondering if it's a way to upsell to business. After all, why would residential be hosting something that requires a static allocation...

@noIPv6 BT have been assigning IPv6 to customers for around 7 years now. Good, right? Except it's a DYNAMIC ALLOCATION. Every time my PPPoE link goes down, it changes. For the love of God, WHY? Is this common?

@ultrahax What's with you and cardboard houses? Are you keeping up a tradition started in Elm Park?

@b0rk I've had a few instances where either IPv4 or IPv6 connectivity failed, but not both, and I was able to use the other to get to servers that needed attention. Over the years, I've seen a few problems blamed on IPv6, but in practice few (if any?) turned out to be IPv6.

@mneylon @kenguest @omegavesko @PaloAltoNtwks It's a config option on Palo Alto Firewalls. You can tell them to drop connection attempts to any domain under a certain age, because they have to be evil. No idea how they implement it in the backend.

A typical website visit in 2022 1. Figure out how to decline all but essential cookies 2. Close the support widget asking if I need help 3. Stop the auto-playing video 4. Close the “subscribe to our newsletter” pop-up 5. Try and remember why I came here in the first place

@CraftComputing I'm one of those primarily Linux users you mention, but I bought a PC from @ScanProAudio for audio work, which had been really nicely setup. I took this as a good example of current Windows, so tried a new Asus laptop running Windows 10 as a daily driver.. It's now running Linux!

@carlwgeorge @mattias_jcb @geerlingguy @AlmaLinux As an aside, perhaps the Centos Community should look at the Wikipedia page for Centos! It reads as if Centos really is no more, with no mention of Stream other than a single line referencing a rolling release variant.

@carlwgeorge @mattias_jcb @geerlingguy @AlmaLinux The perception is that it's being positioned as a development distro for previews of Red Hat rather than for Production. From an outside perspective, that reads as unstable. You may define that as FUD, and you do have a point, but it's self inflicted.

And @AlmaLinux is another worthy option, but regardless, it is the end of an era. I've already moved all CI testing from centos8 to rockylinux8, and any of my servers that were CentOS 7 are now Debian 10/11. Sad, but bittersweet. #CentOS #RedHat
Sherif v0.8@SherifNagy

A quick reminder, #CentOS 8 will be no more in few hours.I hope you migrated to something else, unless you want to go stream.I highly recommend @rocky_linux as an alternative and I am not saying so because I am part of the team, but because it is really awesome!Thx #Centos #linux
