Such a wide range of use cases to get an assist with, using the new agent in Figma! Let us know what you think!
miggi from figma@miggi

A thread of @figma agent prompt examples / screen recordings I helped bring to life to get you started on automations (with 🎵 made on my OP-XY): 🧵 1.) Explore design directions Prompt: Give me 3 style options for this design, one that's organic, one modern, and one retro.

Building fast is table stakes now. The harder problem is whether what ships still matches what you meant (and whether you catch your blind spots before they ship with it). New article on what it can look like when the canvas and codebase stay in conversation. figma.com/blog/workflow-…

One of my favorite new updates to @figma Draw dropped today! Hold ⌘ key (Ctrl on Windows) when you have a brush selected to make it your current brush. Pick up from where you left off with your illustration, or build your palette on the canvas!

@dontgetbored @alessio_joseph IMO, the Mazda's that are not touchscreen centric are nice and simple (ex: cx50). Though the newest redesigns seem to be succumbing to the touchscreen pressures.

"Working visually keeps me close to the problem and is slow enough gives me time to think while I work ... It is part of how clarity emerges. There is something cathartic about that process, in the same way writing can be. Writing helps clarify thought because the act itself forces you to organize it ... The value is not only in the output. It is in the gradual understanding that comes through doing the work." If this is not it, then you are not designing. You're sprinting to output. Which is fine. But don't call it design.

Same thoughts. With stuff like this you need to need to see it to get these sorts of transitions and micro interactions right. To get a certain effect, it sometimes means a completely overhaul of the structure of divs/frames, what needs to be absolutely positioned versus not, etc. It’s so much faster to do this on the canvas than blow through tokens trying to articulate every aspect of this into words…and then get it wrong.

I love building with AI but it still takes slow careful work to achieve really nice results. Which is why I still like prototyping with Figma smart animate sometimes.

@negativespaceca Yeah, one of the more inspirational things I’ve seen on newer planes is they allow for casting your phone’s video to it. But, agree that they need some fresher thinking - especially when ppl are tapping the screen, you’re literally feeling them behind your head

For those who are very deep in their usage of handing over all kinds of tasks to AI agents, what specific moment gave you the necessary trust that it was able to reach your threshold for quality?

Went from layoff email to offer email in 3 weeks, to the hour. ✨ Don’t believe people when they say design hiring is slowing down, there’s lots of work still ahead. ✌️

I would love if @Logitech mice lasted more than a year before the buttons start malfunctioning with missed clicks. Always the same issue.
