Here is my story of how the woke left came for my kid:
My own story is of our daughter who was 13-14 when the lockdowns happened, went through puberty with social media, came across transgender ideology thanks to Instagram and YouTube, had tremendous anxiety and asked us to find her a therapist to deal with the anxiety of starting high school.
This therapist secretly groomed our child, gave her a binder without our knowledge or consent, violating the Parents' constitutional right to parent their child, and taught her to adopt a new male name, male pronouns, and that anyone refusing to support her delusion was 'dead naming' her and was bigoted and transphobic. She told us she was trans and wearing a binder after 7 months of seeing this 'therapist.'
We were taught to immediately affirm, buy her binders, all while our hearts broke for the child we raised for 15 years who was supposedly now 'dead.' We sent her to another therapist since her new identity didn't solve her anxiety.
This ’trans’ identity made the anxiety worse and caused new comorbidities such as cutting.
This therapist after 6 months of meeting with our daughter advised us to bring her to a surgeon for a double mastectomy consult.
When we asked our daughter if this was what she really wanted she said no, she just wanted to get through high school.
We asked her to ask the therapist for a family meeting so we could understand, since wanting this drastic barbaric procedure was not typical of our cautious daughter.
In response the therapist determined meeting with us would be detrimental to treatment and 'what does your mom want to ask me anyway.’ Red flags didn't pop up at the therapist's suggestion that amputation of our child's healthy body parts would solve her anxiety, instead they popped up when the therapist refused to meet with all of us to get at the truth or any kind of understanding.
Truly sickening and unacceptable predatory malpractice.
Later we found out this therapist/activist wrote letters for her clients to transition when we specifically asked the practice for a therapist who would not push the transgender or any kind of gender ideology.
When we asked the practice for the therapy notes, we saw that this therapist forged written documents claiming we had been informed and consented to our child's therapy being focused on 'gender identity.’
Neither us as parents or our kid ever was told this ’trans identity' was a ’treatment’ goal.
We fired this therapist, reached out to her grandparents for help who told us not to affirm, agreed to watching or reading about gender critical videos, books 2x a week, reached out to Gays Against Groomers who we are profoundly grateful to, who put us in touch with detransitioners to speak to our daughter, and a gender critical family therapist. She finally desisted 3 months later.
When we asked why she wanted to transition, she said she hated herself so much that she thought it was a way of starting over. My heart broke hearing that she had so much pain and self-hatred she wanted to erase and mutilate herself. For what? She didn't kill people or animals, defraud the elderly, bomb a school! She is an amazing, bright, compassionate, loving person. How could she feel so terribly about herself?
This ideology preys on children and people who are sensitive and vulnerable.
Why is there a gender clinic proudly advertised on every college website?
Bragging at handing out cross sex hormones without even a psychological evaluation that even WPATH recommends?
Why does health insurance cover these costly experimental therapies where evidence is of very low quality
and science has proven to be irreversible and damaging?
Why is detransitioner health care NOT considered a human right?
This is our personal story with this ideology that has cannibalized our society whole.
It's dangerous, destructive.
Transgender people are bright, sensitive, beautiful,
and are the opposite of the Transactivist movement that is harming and dividing society.
I wish people would have some courage to seek to be truly informed instead of opinionated.
