Two years in, I’m ready to say that the four-team Playoff was superior to the 12-team Playoff in most ways. It succeeded in identifying the best team, protected the regular season and preserved some good non-CFP bowl matchups. Also, fewer decisions for the committee to screw up.

The worst thing about these ridiculously sized conferences is that schedules have never been more inequitable. Getting into the conference title game is often the result of a fortuitous schedule. If Penn State had played Oregon in the regular season they wouldn't be Indy bound.

@TomFornelli Cmon Tom, you dont even believe what youre writing. Michigan struggled against a good Fresno State team and we should panic. Oregon struggled with an FCS Idaho and youre only a little concerned. Iowa dominated an at best mediocre FCS school and you praise them. Make it make sense

@nick_fisher13 @UMFanJosh I'm not saying there shouldn't be punishment but it should fit the crime. And the fact is the ncaa acknowledges adv scouting yields no significant advantage. But Harbaugh was the most vocal advocate for players getting paid & the ncaa doesnt like it when you challenge their money

The NCAA openly admitted that with the widespread availability of game film now it presents no significant advantage when they voted on it recently. It was only kept as a rule bc headsets was deemed to costly for small schools.

@nick_fisher13 @UMFanJosh But I think that's the point most of us UM fans are arguing. Yes they broke the rules, fully acknowledge that. But how egregious is it really? Plus the rule was never even implemented for competitive reasons, it was purely cost savings for smaller programs so why the outrage?

@UMFanJosh For the millionth time, advanced in person scouting is different than sign stealing. You can disagree with the rules or try and argue its impact, but it’s undeniable that Michigan broke the rules and cheated.
