A final post for the year. Just finished this. I should be doing other stuff by now, but I’ve enjoyed taking some time out to learn more about airbrush techniques. Anyway, a very happy New Year to all. Here’s to 2025 being an exciting one. 🍾🥂

Narked to see an Insta account spouting about UK D-Day heritage, claiming to have done 5 year's research and planning on offering tours to places that he's blatantly got from watching mine and others' posts here.

A betwixtmas visit to Norfolk and stopped into Swaffham, where I took the time to visit the town war memorial, the wonderful memorial window in the church, and the grave of Sir Arthur Kynvet Wilson, VC.

A wonderfully uplifting story about groundbreaking surgery at @RoyalPapworth, where surgeons transplanted a pair of lungs revived outside the body in a hi-tech box. Medical science doing its magnificent, awe-inspiring, life-enhancing thing 💙🫁 theguardian.com/society/2024/d…

Having a pork pie for breakfast on Xmas Day is a #Leicestershire tradition originating in Victorian times in Nottinghamshire, as the family of the author D H Lawrence always had Pork Pie for breakfast on Christmas Morning. Have you got yours ready? @visitenglandbiz

I learned an astonishing statistic over the weekend - 10% of Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller people die by suicide. The NHS Race & Health Observatory has launched a series of short films that present the lived experience of people from these communities. Please share.

I think Laudanum is due a revival. A tincture of alcohol and opium might just be the perfect Christmas tipple.

@UKFCOT @HealthRegLawyer @TheHCPC Can’t see it happening with their current methods and processes. Change is required. HCPC is not fit for purpose to met the PSA’s standards on FTP. It hasn’t done so for at least 7 or 8 years now.

We've received three new sets of formal #FitnessToPractise allegations today (1 x GMC, 2 x HCPC), all with the usual 28-day deadline notwithstanding the Christmas period. I just feel "Did you REALLY need to send those out less than 2 weeks before Christmas?". The GMC case relates to an incident in Spring 2023, the HCPC ones date back to Winter 2020 and Autumn 2022. Why is it necessary to destroy a healthcare professional's Christmas on top of them already enduring the FtP process for years? And when Christmas is already well-known to be a mental health risk point? @The_HCPC @gmcuk

@MartinSLewis My patents bought two, £1 each. One in 1958 and one in 1959. They haven’t won anything.
