Once again I’m Incredibly proud of my team of inspectors. It’s been a really busy night and I’m now glad to be home.

This year has flown by & I can’t believe that I’ve delivered Day 1 of our Explosives Licensing & Inspections course. This year we have welcomed colleagues from @MerseyFire to our Protection Training Suite @manchesterfire Looking forward to another full on day tomorrow.

My heart breaks for Carol, Hannah and Louise. A woman is killed by a man every 3 days in the UK. They’re not a statistic, but people whose lives and dreams were cruelly stolen from them. Male violence and misogyny are endemic. We demand a world where women are safe and free.

🎆 It is not only our firefighters who are busy at this time of year. Over the past few weeks, our fire safety officers have inspected over 100 businesses that are licensed to sell fireworks to check that they're complying with the law. Yesterday, @DeputyMayorofGM Kate Green joined one of these inspections to learn more about the vital work our officers are doing to keep the people of Greater Manchester safe. #BonfireNight

Anyone that knows me will know how far out of my comfort zone doing this took me but it's really important to highlight the great work that fire safety officers do around the bonfire period. It's not as visual to the public as work other parts of @manchesterfire do

Another year and another lead up to #BonfireNight where my team of @manchesterfire Fire Safety Inspectors are out checking #firework shops are storing them safely and complying with their licences. It feels like it's come round so fast this year.

Has working from home and online meetings made it acceptable for people to squeeze in meetings? More than 3 occasions this week I've declined a meeting that's been added into a 15/20 minute gap in my diary. These gaps are for a break from the PC or to get a brew or go to the loo

Wow! @JDSports seem to think I'm a thief. An item wasn't in a recent delivery but I must have received it as it's on the despatch note. I've not received it, I don't need to steal clothes but I won't be shopping at JD again
