@TransSee @calwatch @metrolosangeles @misken67 They did go through a procurement process 3 years ago and they won the no-cost contract to be our official app.
There's no way that contract could have been extended, renewed, or whatever, without a procurement process if a cost was added to it.

@DavidRoachford @metrolosangeles @misken67 @calwatch I'd be interested in something like NY MTA's digital arrival screens but those can get costly because they're so easily vandalized.

@DavidRoachford @metrolosangeles @misken67 @calwatch As for showing where the trains are currently... we can actually do that using the data that currently exists. I think the issue is more so how we could provide that in a useful way on the platforms. I don't think it would fit well on the overhead arrival screens.

@metrolosangeles @misken67 @calwatch One more thing to clarify - Metro IS tracking all the trains, which is why TransSee is able to show location/time data. However, for arrival times you need to guess when that train is going to reach each subsequent station. That gets screwy with major issues like single-tracking.

@metrolosangeles spent years directing riders to @transitapp and now we can’t even view information for the A & C lines without paying a monthly fee. + I’m currently waiting on the platform so I can’t get anymore closer to stop.
