@Uber_Support This is really unprofessional. The driver demanded a cash payment on a non-cash trip, and threatened me. The Uber app on his phone even showed a higher amount to be paid as cash than what was displayed earlier. I paid up, but the app is again asking for payment.

@TheMaxamillion @xsgames_ @elonmusk Oh? Didn’t realise. I have a free account to download RHEL images. Just never thought to check if it worked with the articles as well. Silly me, I guess. And thanks a tonne! Oh, by the way, I’m not actually paying!

@xtremepentest I've had audio, camera and WiFi issues with Linux 🤷‍♂️ I'm just seeing the appeal with Linux these days.

@NGKabra Definitely not your fault here. You explicitly asked them to use a compiler and they didn’t.

@nkitpati Yes. I'm fully in favour of letting them use whatever tools they're comfortable with, so as to not disadvantage neurodivergent people.

How bad is it if a candidate for a programming job writes code like: x =< 100 (to mean x less than or equal to 100). I see it as a sign that this candidate has not programmed much in their life (so tending towards rejection). But willing to change my mind if y'all push back.

@NGKabra Fair point. But he was my boss at the point where he had 20+ years of experience under his belt, so who knows how long it took him to figure it all out. I read your second tweet, though. Not using a compiler seems a little less excusable than just being dyslexic.

@nkitpati Those with dyslexia are expected to have figured out workarounds so they can write working code (like your boss seems to have done). Otherwise how will they do their job?

There is no way to contact you on phone. I refuse to do the Help/Support dance on the app. This is your fault and you fix it right now. I’m not wasting any more time on this, and I’m definitely not paying again.

@NGKabra My experience with the Samsung Galaxy M series has been very pleasant in terms of battery life, software support, memory, storage, processing power, and of course, price. amazon.in/dp/B09TWDYSWQ

Looking for a sub-₹20k android phone. What would you recommend? Primary use is WhatsApp and net browsing so not looking for anything special other than good battery life and decent performance. I have been using Moto G5-G6-G7 over the years but wondering if I should switch

@NGKabra The problem is that Android phones get a maximum of 5 years of software support, and renewed phones have used up at least 3 to 4 of those. If there’s custom ROM support, considering you’re technical, this limitation doesn’t apply, though.

Thanks to all those who replied: have some good ideas now... Is buying a "(Renewed)" phone via Amazon recommended? Is the lower price worth the risk? Any experiences, good or bad?

What a tweet blasting Pune Municipal Corporation for enforcing the "couple is not allowed" rule at Pashan! I would've loved to translate it for those who don't read Marathi, but how do you translate फुकट फौजदारी without losing most of its impact?
Samrat Phadnis@PSamratSakal

@vedant_shety @RetroTechDreams Quantity is a good indicator (not measure) of complexity. Low-complexity items attract more implementers than high-complexity ones. Likewise, there’s less incentive to develop kernels when you can use Linux. I commented only on funding as not many want to fund browser engines.

@nkitpati @RetroTechDreams Quantity ≠ Complexity. There’s far less incentive to build a browser engine when you can just use Blink( Chromium) and really while gecko is funded by google it’s owned and developed mozilla.

Think this tweet is going viral because it's basically click bait: There is so much more wrong with this code than the md5 and that really is riling up people emotionally haha

@vedant_shety @RetroTechDreams Humour me, old friend. How many browser engines versus kernels are actively developed? A sum total of 3 browser engines, two of them fully funded by Google (Blink and Gecko): #Timeline" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Browser_e… OS kernels? Count for yourself (not all active dev): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compariso…
