I think you really need to define the term “ invasion” in this aspect. The 2024 Ukrainian incursion into Russia is not the same as the German invasion of Poland for example in 39. If you want to be literal and strict about the interpretation of the term invasion, I suppose this is true in this example. However, invasions are rarely black and white.
