Everyone I know is asking what’s the point in voting for Republicans for many reasons.
The days of voting “for the less of two evils” are gone for most people.
There have been too many broken campaign promises.

Real question and I don’t care who it pisses off, why should we vote for Republicans in November? Mass deportations aren’t happening. Most of us are single issue voters on immigration and DHS under Markwayne has decided they would rather appease CNN and MSNBC. Republicans won’t pass Save America, they won’t support the mass deportations we voted for. They haven’t done, frankly, jack shit outside of a tax cut extension. So why? Why push Maine to vote for Susan Collins? Because at least she’s not an admitted communist? In the end, though, what’s really the difference? Vote Republican, get Democrat policy anyway.

I spoke to my old friend Lindsey Graham this morning, the senior Senator from South Carolina. He’s still recovering in the hospital. We talked for just shy of 20 minutes … about IRAN, UKRAINE, the unfolding situation in MAINE, my visit to the William Henry Harrison Presidential Library, and even a little bit of Senate history. I told him we want to see him back at work as soon as possible.

The airline lost my bag for 72 hours.
They handed me a $50 “courtesy” voucher at the baggage desk and smiled like they’d done me a favor.
I kept the voucher. Then I opened my laptop and used a 1999 international treaty they never mention at check-in.
Total recovered: $1,650.

A major struggle inside the Trump Administration right now lies in the incompatibility between ideology and reality.
For many, getting the United States to launch a war against Iran was their single most important ambition. Wipe out the regime, strengthen Israel, eliminate those that despise America.
And it became everything to them.
Then, their dreams came true on February 28th when Donald Trump launched Operation Epic Fury.
But it quickly fell apart after the Minab bombing that killed more than a hundred schoolchildren, and Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz.
Now, almost three months later, the writing is on the wall. The United States is cornered, with no viable pathways to victory. No military options exist, blockade has failed disastrously, and Trump is staring down the barrel of legacy defining failure alongside his closest advisors.
Trump, and those around him that built their entire careers dreaming of toppling the Iranian regime, are now doomed to hand them their greatest victory, and that is something that they are unwilling to accept.
But it’s the reality they are faced with.
With the Trump Administration desperately grasping at straws and clinging to pipe dreams, it is time that they do what is right for the United States, and right for the world.
Cut a deal.
It will be a bad deal. It will destroy many people’s careers, and it will destroy the legacy of Donald Trump. But not every movie is Rudy. Sometimes the movie is Cool Runnings. A great story that ends in defeat.
The Trump Administration needs to understand that their ideology and reality are incompatible with one another. There are no viable pathways to victory. There are no sweetheart deals. There are only concessions that will destroy the administration.
But for the sake of the world, the Trump Administration needs to make these concessions.

The careless decision to reduce our force posture in Europe, along with moves by Pete Hegseth and his political henchmen to force out some of our finest general officers is amateur hour at best and deadly at worst.
Hegseth continues to surprise and disrespect our greatest allies and some of our best military professionals with impulsive decisions not grounded in reality or good judgment. If the rumors are true that Hegseth is trying to sideline General Chris Donahue, one of our nation’s finest warfighters, by downgrading U.S. Army Europe-Africa to a 3-star command, he is taking another step down a dangerous path. A step that is not in the best interests of our nation or our servicemembers.
General Donahue has dedicated his entire career to upholding the high standards and warrior ethos that Hegseth claims he is restoring to our ranks. Gen. Donahue has led Soldiers at all levels in Airborne (including Ft. Bragg’s 82nd) and Mechanized units, the 75th Ranger Regiment, and our most prestigious special operation units. He deployed over 20 times in support of Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, New Dawn, Inherent Resolve, Atlantic Resolve, Freedom’s Sentinel, European Assure, Deter and Reinforce, and in support of the Sudan crisis.
Hegseth would do well to surround himself with more patriots like General Donahue and to get his henchmen, who are not qualified to carry Donahue's bag, out of the Pentagon. Keep your word, Mr. Secretary: choose meritocracy over your mediocre yes-men.

I don’t think this hantavirus thing is anything to worry about. The pandemic risk is extremely low. But the problem is that our “public health authorities” permanently destroyed their credibility with covid, so if there ever is an apocalyptic pandemic nobody will believe them.
