everyone wants a village, but no one wants to be a villager
> drive your friends to the airport

it's worth every ounce of effort

Hate to break it to you guys but sometimes you have to do things you don’t like for the sake of having a community. Avoiding consistency with the people in your life is working against us and the data already shows it. If you think connections can be sustained on absence carry on

@PaulWolfpackFan @HerewegoUK Paul do yourself a favor and don’t argue with stupid, he doesn’t even live in the US lol
English

@HerewegoUK You're trying to redefine the word exploitation to mean illegal. That's not what the word means. 🤨 It's about unequal benefit and risk when it comes to working a tipped wages job.
English

We went to a dinner as a group and had a $500 bill. We tipped $40. We were happy we can be able to give our server something, but her reaction was the opposite. She told us she assumed we're going to give her at least $120. When we asked for the manager, she said she was just joking, but she wasn't smiling at all. Idk, but is $40 tip enough for $500 bill? I just feel like expecting $120 is not realistic.

@WoeXeno_ @minsung4eva143 @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 Serving jobs are what put me through school… how do you expect people to move up if they can’t make money entry level. I’m in texas and I made 2.13 before tips at every serving job I had, along with all my friends in college, unless you were lucky enough to land fine dining
English

@normalnoodle_ @minsung4eva143 @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 Bro I’m in California. Most of these kids my age are making $16+/hr where I’m at. So yeah, I don’t have much sympathy for them. I’m sorry but minimum wage jobs aren’t careers. If you’re stuck at one, you need to apply yourself more and get a better skill set employers want.
English

@PaulWolfpackFan @HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 Correct, tipping is optional, you can choose to have morals or exploit workers…
English

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 I will no longer reply to an insane person, have the day you deserve(:
English

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 If someone has to rely on state and federal assistance because customers stopped tipping, that’s not an argument against tipping, that’s an admission that the wage structure doesn’t work without it. You’re literally proving my point, again. Please seek help!
English

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 Servers would survive off of 7.25 if no one tipped, which is what I was replying to as the original tweet I’ve been talking about the whole time is insisting people DONT need to tip. But if no one tipped, they would only make 7.25 an hour. This is why tipping is important!
English

@normalnoodle_ @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 You said, sarcastically, in a reply to my post, and I’ll quote.
“Could you survive off of $7.25 an hour? That’s what I thought… If you’re so comfortable exploiting workers just say that next time”
THEY DON’T SURVIVE OFF $7.25 do they?
You’re not the brightest bulb are you?
English

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 YES, EXACTLY!!!! PEOPLE MUST TIP IN THE US FOR SERVERS TO GET PAID😭😭 THAT IS MY WHOLE POINT, DUH!!!
English

@normalnoodle_ @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 Seen LA, not Austin. My mistake.
Where you were from then.
I have clearly demonstrated that a servers monthly salary exceeds the minimum requirement of any state in the US, and by some margin.
Servers understand this, they know the industry, yet you are purposely being obtuse
English

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 I live in a city where the minimum is set at $2.13 + tips. If no one tipped, like the person I was replying to in the first place wants, then servers would make no money. How are you so incredibly dense…
English

@normalnoodle_ @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 Hi..
it’s statically near impossible to receive zero tips per month.
You live in a city where the minimum is set at $17.27 + tips.
Servers with $2.13 on their slip know that’s to be ignored, it’s gas money. They also know what the industry is like, what they earn in reality.
English

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 No, by stating $2.13 as base pay, I am highlighting that you must tip your severs for them to earn a living wage. That was the whole point of my tweet, in response to a tweet claiming no one needs to tip their server. You have reportedly proved my point.
English

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 So you agree tipped minimum wage is $2.13 and in order to make more than $7.25 customers must tip! Thankfully the people who live in America seem to have a better understanding on US laws than you! I’m glad I could help you learn something new today(:
English

@normalnoodle_ @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 Hi…
Correct, you finally understand what a server earns.
Understand is important, some have that ability right from the get go, and some don’t.
Don't be too hard on yourself.
English

@Kaibosh_ @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 Yes of course blame the oppressed not the oppressor right? Can’t argue with stupid
English

@normalnoodle_ @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 It's not me exploiting workers or any other customer for that matter in a flawed system as you put it.
But is definitely the employers who not exploiting the system but also their staff. And if they won't stand up and be counted and change the system that's their fault
English

@HerewegoUK @perilousbanana @LewisKathi22977 @CrySlyFly @TheHitMan1776 @MrPitbull07 Imagine not living here and still being this loud and wrong about our labor laws.
English

@perilousbanana @HerewegoUK @LewisKathi22977 @CrySlyFly @TheHitMan1776 @MrPitbull07 because you can’t live off of $7 an hour???? It is a tip based wage system that servers have no say in. This is the way the system is set up you can choose to participate or choose to be a piece of shit and exploit workers.
English

@HerewegoUK @LewisKathi22977 @CrySlyFly @TheHitMan1776 @MrPitbull07 It was a rhetorical question. If the employer is required to pay $7 an hour, why are customers expected to pay more than that? 🤔
English

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 $30–$70/hr is WITH tips. The employer still only pays tipped minimum. Customers subsidize the wage. Thank you for demonstrating that servers make money from tips. That was… exactly my point.
Reading comprehension is free btw😭
English

@normalnoodle_ @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 Hi.
$7.25 is the absolute minimum! and not the $2.13 that YOU posted.
A friend gets the minimum, and in January, she averaged $32 with tips, and that’s in January, in Boston.
If you don’t know what a server can earn, then why didn’t you say so at the start.

English

@WoeXeno_ @minsung4eva143 @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 The restaurant is only responsible for the difference between 2.13 and 7.25, if you’re comfortable exploiting workers just say that?
English

@minsung4eva143 @normalnoodle_ @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 If the sever doesn’t make the minimum wage through tips, the restaurant has to payout the difference. So no matter what, these severs get paid with or without your tips.
