You’re telling me that for me to be born it took 1 dad, 1 mom, 4 grandparents, 8 great‑grandparents, 16great‑great‑grandparents… and NONE of them left me even a single plot of land?

everyone wants a village, but no one wants to be a villager > drive your friends to the airport > go to their party even when you're tired > stop cancelling last minute > host at your place > support the wins & losses it's worth every ounce of effort

Hate to break it to you guys but sometimes you have to do things you don’t like for the sake of having a community. Avoiding consistency with the people in your life is working against us and the data already shows it. If you think connections can be sustained on absence carry on

@HerewegoUK You're trying to redefine the word exploitation to mean illegal. That's not what the word means. 🤨 It's about unequal benefit and risk when it comes to working a tipped wages job.

We went to a dinner as a group and had a $500 bill. We tipped $40. We were happy we can be able to give our server something, but her reaction was the opposite. She told us she assumed we're going to give her at least $120. When we asked for the manager, she said she was just joking, but she wasn't smiling at all. Idk, but is $40 tip enough for $500 bill? I just feel like expecting $120 is not realistic. ~Lea Robertson

@WoeXeno_ @minsung4eva143 @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 Serving jobs are what put me through school… how do you expect people to move up if they can’t make money entry level. I’m in texas and I made 2.13 before tips at every serving job I had, along with all my friends in college, unless you were lucky enough to land fine dining

@normalnoodle_ @minsung4eva143 @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 Bro I’m in California. Most of these kids my age are making $16+/hr where I’m at. So yeah, I don’t have much sympathy for them. I’m sorry but minimum wage jobs aren’t careers. If you’re stuck at one, you need to apply yourself more and get a better skill set employers want.

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 If someone has to rely on state and federal assistance because customers stopped tipping, that’s not an argument against tipping, that’s an admission that the wage structure doesn’t work without it. You’re literally proving my point, again. Please seek help!

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 Servers would survive off of 7.25 if no one tipped, which is what I was replying to as the original tweet I’ve been talking about the whole time is insisting people DONT need to tip. But if no one tipped, they would only make 7.25 an hour. This is why tipping is important!

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 I live in a city where the minimum is set at $2.13 + tips. If no one tipped, like the person I was replying to in the first place wants, then servers would make no money. How are you so incredibly dense…

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 No, by stating $2.13 as base pay, I am highlighting that you must tip your severs for them to earn a living wage. That was the whole point of my tweet, in response to a tweet claiming no one needs to tip their server. You have reportedly proved my point.

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 So you agree tipped minimum wage is $2.13 and in order to make more than $7.25 customers must tip! Thankfully the people who live in America seem to have a better understanding on US laws than you! I’m glad I could help you learn something new today(:

@normalnoodle_ @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 It's not me exploiting workers or any other customer for that matter in a flawed system as you put it. But is definitely the employers who not exploiting the system but also their staff. And if they won't stand up and be counted and change the system that's their fault

@HerewegoUK @MikelaWacho @MrPitbull07 $30–$70/hr is WITH tips. The employer still only pays tipped minimum. Customers subsidize the wage. Thank you for demonstrating that servers make money from tips. That was… exactly my point. Reading comprehension is free btw😭
