In America we cannot talk about cooling down the tone of political rhetoric and calming the polarized environment in American society while openly supporting destructive individuals and systems that enable our geopolitical ambitions in Africa. Political leaders here in America on both sides are talking about “taking the temperature down” to ease tensions and being united as a nation. You cannot talk about reducing the temperature in our country while watching your “puppets” in Africa openly oppress, minimize and seek to destroy members of their own populations. American foreign policy in Africa is an extremely selfish, tone-def foreign policy that is laying waste to the Horn of Africa, in particular Ethiopia. In the past 36 hours I have heard “we are better than this as Americans” and “political violence has no place in America”. Yet we regularly endorse and in some cases participate in political, psychological and physical violence in Africa in order to control a region and its resources. Now the chickens are coming home to roost because you have done so much to manipulate and destroy systems in Africa, in this particular case, Ethiopia and your exploits are no longer hidden. The voices of those ethnic Amhara victims and survivors from Wollega, Metekel, Mai Kadra, Chena, Ataye and numerous other places in Ethiopia are not and will not remain marginalized and invisible. You have thumbed your nose and turned your back on the crimes committed against any Ethiopians that are not in line with your political puppets and favorite leaders and thus you have enabled mass murder and genocide.
