I keep having dreams where I wake up in Conamara. Last night an old guy was asking me to translate from English but the sentences didn't make sense. He was like, how do you say "Seán was temporary", I locked in and said "níor bhuan é" and he was surprised and pleased. What mean.

@MVPatty15 @Rabadash2 Costs are inflated because of massive ammounts of public money flowing into private healthcare where they can set whatever price they want for anything as long as they charge that to everyone.insurance companies are the only reason doctors treat non government paid patients

@Rabadash2 Without the insurance companies, there would be no need to charge thousands of dollars to measure your heartbeat though The costs are inflated BECAUSE of private health insurance companies

I think this is what AI will take from us, knowledge like this, the ability to converse like this on topics that you have deep knowledge of, because why bother spending years deepening your understanding of something when you can just ask AI to spew it out for you. And most of our conversations of length these days are done over typed message. No one really has these type of conversations face to face anymore. When was the last time you really chewed it out on a topic with a friend irl?

@Johnrobholmes @IsaacKing314 The basket of goods changes because consumers change. If bananas become $25, people will buy oranges. That may understate the inflation of bananas specifically, but accurately accounts for the change in total spending

@amcking1971 @patchyhistory @SalvicMuse @sunnyright Americans are the richest large nation certainly, But the healthcare system is messed up. You have massive ammount of government money inflating the cost of healthcare that makes insurance mandatory to cover medical costs that would normally be easily affordable out of pocket.

@CathalO89340211 It was done with the design for coins previously but I assume that the risk of counterfit coins was so much lower that they didn't consider there being 100 or so different coins a problem.

@kittydemon__ I think Paul Atreides being a fictional character probably lowers the meaningfulness the most.

What resources are the US “raping” from the world? Go ahead and explain which ones and how much of them. It should be quite easy for a genius like you to explain to a retard like me.
Argyll & Sutherland@DulGorm

@ChristianHeiens Lmao at you not understanding that the U.S. rapes the world of its resources. What a fuckin retarded rube.

@sudonym @yacineMTB Well if models with those capabilities were common place then the pathways for all those breaches would presumably be patched before they went live because your model could check it before you made it live.

@yacineMTB Right, but the implication that any sufficiently capable model could replicate the results still remains. That said, there’s additional limiting factors like access to sufficient hardware that can run said “sufficiently capable models” at meaningful throughput.

Didn't they literally get hacked by a company who has a monopoly on the model and stopped them from using that model to defend themselves, and then they needed to use an open source chinese model to defend?
Aleph@woke8yearold

Ironically HuggingFace has a unique incentive to downplay the risk posed by AI because they are the open weights guys. They can’t freak out about a world of unstoppable self-replicating cyber agents without undermining their own narrative completely

@WomanDefiner I was just arguing with Grok about this. Region induced physical differences could easily be the early signs of speciation, but Grok's counter argument is basically that bottleneck means we're all extremely close genetically and most subspecies began to split far longer ago.

@UBERSOY1 The US has nearly the same % working 15-64 as European nations. They used 15-64 for the other nations and % of 16+ working for the US lowering its % by including retirees and not giving the actual labour force participation %.
