If I were the devil, and I was furious that God loved humans so much He actually entered their world, died for them, and offered them salvation for free… whew, I’d be petty. I would respond with deception. I’d create a counterfeit religion, one that looks almost like the truth. I would mix in small pieces of truth and goodness, just enough to make it believable. I would encourage people to be kind, as long as that kindness never leads anyone to heaven. I would promote charity, fully knowing that charity alone does not qualify anyone for salvation. I’d make them obsess over good deeds, making them care more about works than about eternity. I would remove the true way of salvation and replace it with rituals, telling them that as long as they pray, perform religious duties consistently, never miss them, and do good deeds, they are good to go… And I’d whisper, “Congratulations, you’re qualified.” Meanwhile, I’ve already locked the main gate 😈🚪 Then for extra spice, I’d take bits from the Bible, rebrand them to fit my story, grab key biblical figures, distort the truth about who they are, and reshape them to align with my version of the story. Finally, I’d say: “The Bible is corrupted.” “But my book? Oh yes, that one is the true word of God.” Mission accomplished. And look around… That’s exactly what the devil did. And here we are today. 😌
