I must bring to your attention a pressing concern... the same police exodus that has occurred elsewhere is likely to happen in Virginia as well if Democrats like Ghazala Hashmi win. Criminal justice reform must prioritize actual justice, rather than serving as a means to release criminals or exact revenge against law enforcement officers, potentially leading to personal financial ruin and incarceration. Why is my opponent Ghazala Hashmi not being asked about her stance on Mamdani and whether her progressive policies in Virginia align with Mamdani’s socialist vision in New York City? This is a legitimate and pertinent question. I am frequently asked to differentiate myself from Trump, evangelicals, and GOP congressional leaders. Why can't Ghazala Hashmi be expected to engage in a nuanced discussion on complex issues, such as those related to Mamdani? Or does she just get a pass on everything important?

In our competitive society, where it seems that only the strong and winners deserve to live, sport also teaches us how to lose. It forces us, in learning the art of losing, to confront our fragility, our limitations and our imperfections. It is through the experience of these limits that we open our hearts to hope.
