If you’re a proponent of decentralization but are still using Twitter and/or Facebook as your primary social networks, just know that I’m here quietly judging you.

There is no reason anyone who uses Android should put up with this.

@brave Brave's ad-blocking is so good that I never think about it at all, and then I'm shocked when I see somebody else's browser window.

Most private voting in all of crypto! Every vote is a private snapshot of your zcash balance. We use pir to get this snapshot. 1 zec = 1 vote Each vote is mpc encrypted, and split up so that your balance can’t be leaked if mpc got broken. Final result is publicly auditable

We’re adding Zcash coinholder polling in @zodl_app with the first poll targeted for June. Soon, anyone using Zodl will be able to share their opinion on the direction of the Zcash protocol by voting their coins. The voting protocol will also be available for integration with other shielded ZEC wallets. The draft questions and timetable for the Zcash Network Upgrade 7 (NU7) poll are available here: forum.zcashcommunity.com/t/nu7-sentimen… Thanks to @zkDragon and his team for all their work building and helping us integrate the new voting protocol.

You can watch the surveillance state in America being put up on real time This chart shows the amount of Flock cameras being put up from January 1st 2024 through May 2026 This is horrifying. Wake up before it too late

@theblockprof This skips over the obvious objection that *nothing* is valuable unless there are people there to believe that it's valuable. But I think it's still a distinction worth considering.

@theblockprof We've arrived in a modern world where "money" is a distinct category, and I think that it's fair to say that modern "money" has the characteristic of being *exclusively* valuable because people believe in it.

@theblockprof Anything that has utility *apart* from its use for exchange: commodities, securities, etc, aren’t money. Money is special in *lacking* that other utility. So crypto is definitely money.

@theblockprof I was just thinking about *why* crypto is money. The defining characteristic of money, which nothing else shares, is that it only has value because people believe it has value.

If 1 ZEC = 80k and 1 BTC = 80k I’d buy ZEC because it gives me the option to save and use it privately. 1 ZEC being 1/160th the price of bitcoin just makes it that much easier for me tbh.

@jswihart @bajpaiharsh244 Why doesn’t zodl support derivative public keys for transparent addresses? Terrible for privacy forcing single public key reuse That alone is reason enough for me to try this app

Asked Claude: 'There's a meme called the "fix everything easily switch". What policies do you think are the best candidates for being a real fix everything switch in the US? Give me your top ten, your confidence, your reasoning, and why a given policy has not been implemented.'
