THE ANTI-DESIGN AGENCY MANIFESTO. Why is nobody talking about how AI is going to kill 90% of design agencies? A year ago, if you asked for designs that are cheap, fast, and top quality, they'll say, “pick two.” Today, with AI, that is dead. Now, clients expect all three—and frankly, so do I. After countless chats with designers, I realized something: the agency playbook is overdue for a rewrite. This is where the script flips 180. 1/ Most agencies take a long time to design, many revisions → "Anti-design" use AI to increase speed. 2/ Most agencies will be anti-AI due to inertia and unwillingness to change → "Anti-design" recruit designers who aren’t afraid to work closely with AI & are super proficient. 3/ Most agencies get clients via referrals/word of mouth, gatekeeping-ish → "Anti-design" is social-media first, get clients via IG/TT content where we show our design process etc. to build trust among viewers. 4/ Most agencies charge ridiculous prices -> "Anti-design" can afford to charge more reasonable amounts. The anti-design agency is not anti-design. It’s a rejection of the old way design was sold. Is this the future? I believe so. You?

I’ve realized something recently: I’m designing and working from fear, just like most designers I know. Fear of failing. Fear of not being good enough. Fear of what others will think. It’s been like this my whole life. In school, I was always the best, but it wasn’t ambition that drove me, it was fear of falling behind. Now my goal is simple: One day I want to say everything I do comes from vision, not fear.
