@WexlerRules @JBackAttack @Mets Yeah to clarify I'm in no way defending the state of the system, which has undoubtedly regressed. I just think a couple graduations (Benge and Ewing) make it feel even more dire. And the lack of drafted hitters excelling is due to the lack of drafted hitters in general.

@mets have signed UDFA SS Dylan Carey. Carey somehow went undrafted despite winning the Brooks Wallace Award which is given to the top NCAA SS in the country #Mets

@DaveyUpper Wheeler always has a huge boner for guys that were just drafted. This list looks like every other list he's ever made, dominated at the top by the 20 guys just taken.

@JBackAttack @WexlerRules @Mets And if we didn't have such a poorly constructed roster Benge and Ewing may be in AAA still as well. Maybe less so Benge. Regardless, this year has sucked from a development standpoint but I think a few things skew the perception

@nyr2k2 @WexlerRules @Mets yes but even the higher drafted bats, like jimenez, houck, parada, havent done much and im leaving off quite a few hurt ones, but yes there have been quite a few more drafted pitchers

@MetCastPod His value is significantly diminished, but "zero value" seems like hyperbole. There are dozens and dozens of MLB pitchers who have never been good who keep getting jobs because teams think their stuff is workable

When I said to trade him in the off-season, I was laughed at. Now he has 0 value. Jonah Tong Triple-A: 15 G | 15 HR | 39 BB | 1-5 | 6.00 ERA | 66 IP | 1.51 WHIP

@Buster_ESPN 30 points off his career OPS and numbers down across the board. Way to go, Pete! Hey, I'd be glad to drop the Mets, too, but let's not pretend he's having some renaissance.

@WexlerRules @JBackAttack @Mets Not to excuse some of the regression we've seen this year but haven't they focused pretty heavily on arms the past couple of drafts (prior to this one)?

@SkyFootball It clearly hit something. The trajectory changed quite obviously. BBC's 3D modeling of things shows it clear as day. Of course you cannot prove it, but FIFA has little credibility at the moment and this doesn't help.

FIFA have released a statement on X to explain why England’s equaliser against Norway was not ruled out, after the ball appeared to strike the spider cam 📷

@markpougatch I don't care much of it, but it clearly and undeniably hit something. The trajectory of a football just doesn't change that way in mid air unless it contacts something or there is a major gust of wind (which wasn't happening that night). The fact FIFA says "trust me" means nil

@Benefit_Doctor @fifamedia Yes agreed, and if you move the video further back, even earlier in the sequence he had an opportunity to simply play the ball in front of Haaland and let him run onto it. Again not a pass you every Sunday League player can make but one Sorloth certainly can

@fifamedia I’m only ignoring this sensor talk cause Norway had a chance to have killed the game but didn’t due to sorloth selfishness

Before England’s goal in minute 45+2 against Norway, the sensor in the Connected Ball showed no peak in the 'heartbeat of the ball' when in the air, and therefore no evidence that the ball touched the overhead wire and changed the movement of the ball.

My dad used to tell me that back in the old days, TV channels would shut down around midnight. They’d play the national anthem… and then go completely off air until morning. Is that real, or is he just messing with me?

@awfulannouncing Of course Henry is right. Fox however has Lalas on board with two thoughtful, world-class players for a reason, though: exactly what he's doing, stirring shit up trying to cause drama. This video has gone completely viral whereas without Lalas, everyone would just be like "yup."

@nyr2k2 @mckeenshockey @RVBScouting Typically when older players like Lindgren are selected, they come over. As for Chrenko, I think that if he would have come over, he would have done it when the Memorial Cup champion Kitchener Rangers held his rights. Don’t see it but who knows.

@matthewdmarsden I won't argue the point because I accepted boot as the "proper" term decades ago. But if you go to a shoe store and go to the boot section, you're not finding anything resembling what the players are wearing out on the pitch.

@mckeenshockey At #24, Red Deer took Rangers draft pick, defender Zeb Lindgren. Strong skating, two-way defender. Needs to shake that "jack of all trades" label and didn't progress a ton in Sweden this year. Could be why he looks to come over. I know @RVBScouting is a fan and could tell more.

Has been a lot of fun to see the #USMNT have some World Cup success, and maybe this isn't the right time for a dose of reality, BUT... The FIFA World Rankings of the teams we've beaten are 28th (Australia), 34th (Paraguay), and 61st (Bosnia). Belgium is currently ranked 9th.
