A masterclass on the difficult situation that the West finds itself in. We have been consumed by a financial parasite. “You can ignore reality, but you cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.” The future belongs to those who build, not those who merely extract.

Everybody wants your attention. Attention is the most precious thing that you can give to someone, because like time, it is limited, and you can't get it back. Like AI, attention is all you need.

Who wants to do a "medium of exchange" vs "store of value" Bitcoin debate? And I want the best here who will bring real arguments. Not just taglines, moral posturing, and quotes from the whitepaper. @saylor @jack @saifedean @LynAldenContact @timevalueofbtc @adam3us @jackmallers or anyone else who wants suggest someone good for this or share it with someone they think could add a lot to the conversation?

John Exter was an American economist that created a model of money risk, with Gold, at the base of an inverted pyramid. After the 2008 GFC, the world gave birth to a revolutionary new system with Bitcoin at the base. The next few years, money will migrate to less risky layers.

It's hard to believe that a smart guy like @elonmusk doesn't know how the fiat debt-based money system works. The debt that backs the assets MUST grow or else the whole system comes crashing down. It's a parasite, yes, a kind of reverse robinhood, but what we need is a new monetary system, not a new political party...

The official paper is out - Chris Fields and I on the origin of life: tandfonline.com/doi/epdf/10.10… "We argue here that the Origin of Life (OOL) problem is not just a chemistry problem but is also, and primarily, a cognitive science problem. When interpreted through the lens of the Conway- Kochen theorem and the Free Energy Principle, contemporary physics characterizes all complex dynamical systems that persist through time as Bayesian agents. If all persistent systems are to some – perhaps only minimal – extent cognitive, are all persistent systems to some extent alive, or are living systems only a subset of cognitive systems? We argue that no bright line can be drawn, and we re-assess, from this perspective, the Fermi paradox and the Drake equation. We conclude that improving our abilities to recognize and communicate with diverse intelligences in diverse embodiments, whether based on familiar biochemistry or not, will either resolve or obviate the OOL problem." Where are the aliens? Everywhere. SUTI: thoughtforms.life/suti-the-searc…

@yacineMTB That's the main value of AI models right now. They force us to ask better questions.

@emollick I see it more like a garden. You cannot be passive about your feed, you must root all the little toxic weeds, no matter the colour. I feel pretty nice about my garden.

This paper makes a compelling case that, if you want to be happier, better informed, and like your fellow humans more, you should simply unfollow hyperpartisan accounts. It works "like a scalpel" cutting out the harmful X stuff "while allowing the beneficial aspects to remain."
