It was an engaging and fulfilling session to share experience, present ideas and interact with the newly recruited Odisha Information Service Officers during their recent induction training program at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Dhenkanal. Nice to join the Editors’ Panel alongside veteran journalists Tapan Mishra, Editor, Samaja, and Ashok Pradhan, Bureau Chief, ToI, Bhubaneswar. During our discussion, I outlined the '3R Formula' for achieving success as a Government PRO in today's AI and digital-first media landscape: being Reachable, Resourceful, and Responsible. I also delved into the vital role of social media in e-governance and strategies for exploring developmental, public-interest stories across digital and mainstream platforms. The interaction was exceptionally lively. The young officers brought forward perceptive questions regarding real-life professional, ethical, and practical challenges in the PRO-Media interface, a crucial area that certainly warrants a broader discussion. My sincere thanks to Prof. Anand Pradhan, Regional Director, IIMC Dhenkanal, and the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Odisha, for the invitation and for hosting such an elaborate induction program for the young officers.
