"Most consequentially, they asked Beijing to provide Pakistan with a sea-based nuclear second-strike capability, the most sensitive element of any nuclear power’s deterrent, and a capability Pakistan has spent two decades trying to develop on its own. China refused." Fantastic article chronicling the double games of Rawalpindi and corroborates India's suspicions.

An Indian W that didn’t get the eyeballs it deserved today is the Netherlands agreeing to share their expertise in water management at Afsluitdijk for India’s Kalpasar Project. What’s Afsluitdijk? The Netherlands kept getting flooded because seawater from the North Sea entered deep into the country. The 32-km-long dam and sea barrier called the Afsluitdijk solved this by acting as a giant wall across the sea (red line in image 1), blocking seawater and turning the area into a controlled freshwater lake. India is planning something similar with the Kalpasar Project. Gujarat faces water shortages, uneven rainfall, and large amounts of river water flowing into the sea without being stored. The project aims to solve this by building a giant barrier across the Gulf of Khambhat (red line in image 2) to store freshwater, improve irrigation, and supply water to cities and industries. The signing of the Letter of Intent between India and the Netherlands for technical cooperation on the Kalpasar Project could finally bring this project, pending since the 1970s/80s, to life.

Only in India can a Babu name a city New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (Noida) and a colony Safdarjung Development Area (SDA), because in their world everything is perpetually ‘under development,’ never quite done. And then an upscale builder steps in with Windsor Court, Hamilton Court, Hyde Park, Queen’s Court, as if a few borrowed names from England might airlift us straight into first-world living. Then we ask why we Indians carry a curious split personality. One foot stuck in files marked *pending*, the other wandering through imported dreams with not a single street garbage-free or a decent pavement between the two. #SundayMusings

Don't tell me I did not warn you! Fake Aadhar factories will keep tumbling out from West Bengal. The first - discovered in a Trinamool Congress office. via @republic @BanglaRepublic
Mahesh Jethmalani@JethmalaniM

The real border breach! Where is it happening? After the West Bengal election and the massive victory of BJP, everyone is talking about the porous borders. But the real border breach may have been happening inside fake Aadhaar shops in West Bengal. In the last decade, multiple terror-linked cases in West Bengal have shown the same disturbing pattern: illegal entry, fake Indian identity, fake Aadhaar, fake voter documents, SIM cards, rented rooms, movement across states, and then terror networks hiding in plain sight. From the 2017 ABT/Al-Qaeda-linked arrests in Kolkata, to the NIA’s JMB case in South 24 Parganas, to the 2026 terror module busted across Bengal and Tamil Nadu, fake Aadhaar keeps appearing in every case. Even 2 Chinese nationals were detained at Bagdogra Airport in West Bengal with forged Aadhaar cards, expired visas, and fake passports after traveling to Nepal, Bhutan, and Pakistan. This is infrastructure. Fake Aadhaar factories are not just helping someone get a job or a rented room. They are helping terror-linked operatives become invisible inside India. It is a weaponised identity. And that is why the new Suvendu Adhikari government in West Bengal has to treat it as a national-security priority from Day One. Every fake Aadhaar factory must be mapped. Every syndicate producing forged identity papers must be broken. Every SIM-card racket, fake voter ID pipeline, illegal rental network, and document middleman operating along the border belt must be investigated. Fake identity networks do not merely help one infiltrator survive. They create an ecosystem where foreign handlers, sleeper cells, recruiters, couriers and illegal operatives can disappear into the crowd. If Bengal wants to secure itself, the crackdown cannot stop at the fence. It has to enter the printing shops, cyber cafés, Aadhaar enrolment rackets, panchayat-level document chains, local political protection networks and every factory where Indian identity was being manufactured for people who had no right to possess it. Now that the work to dethrone the evil TMC government has been done, the bigger challenge awaits - detoxifying the state’s security architecture after years of border softness, document fraud and political patronage. Because Bengal is not just another state. Bengal is India’s eastern gate. And if that gate is secured, India’s intelligence network becomes stronger. If that gate is compromised, every fake Aadhaar can become the beginning of a terror file.

Bought a beautifully handcrafted jacket adorned with traditional Savara Art during my visit to Narasannapeta today. Savara tribal painting is a traditional art form of the Savara tribe from the Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh, reflecting their culture and way of life. Appreciating the continued efforts of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency in bringing wider recognition to this unique tribal art form through such versatile creations.

Hearty congratulations Vamsi . This article in Today’s Eenaadu Sunday Magazine describes the contribution by NIT Alumni Vamsi Krishna Reddy . What many consider impossible, a Telugu youth has made possible through determination and hard work. A young engineer from Telangana, Vamsi Krishna Reddy, a Civil Engineering graduate from NIT Warangal, has successfully participated in the construction of one of the most difficult railway stretches in India near the world-famous Dudhsagar waterfalls. The article says that laying railway tracks in the Dudhsagar region is an extraordinary engineering challenge. Surrounded by dense forests, steep mountains, deep valleys, waterfalls, and heavy rainfall throughout the year, the area is considered highly risky for railway construction works. “One Step at a Time…” The report narrates how work on this railway stretch would begin as early as 12:30 in the afternoon and continue under extremely difficult conditions. Workers and engineers had to carry out rail welding, track alignment, and bridge-related works amidst dangerous terrain and unpredictable weather. It explains that this route falls in the Western Ghats region between Goa and Karnataka and that several railway engineers earlier described the project as nearly impossible because of: continuous rains, landslides, difficult rocky terrain, transportation challenges, and strict railway safety standards. Despite these hardships, the team successfully completed crucial railway line works in the area. “A Matter of Pride…” The article highlights that Vamsi Krishna Reddy worked with exceptional commitment and technical skill in this prestigious railway project. His contribution earned appreciation from railway authorities and engineering circles. It further mentions that completing railway works in the Dudhsagar region is regarded as a remarkable achievement because the route contains dangerous curves, steep gradients, tunnels, and bridges running alongside the waterfalls. Inspiration for Youth The feature presents Vamsi Krishna Reddy’s achievement as an inspiration to engineering students and young people from Telangana. Coming from an ordinary background and reaching such a prestigious engineering milestone through perseverance and dedication is described as a proud moment for Telugu people. The article concludes by stating that his success proves that with determination, discipline, and technical knowledge, even the toughest challenges can be overcome.

And now, it is the turn of the young female Amur falcon Alang to make us speechless 😶 After taking off from the Somalian coast at 7:30 am on 14 May, Alang has been steadily pushing northward across the Arabian Sea on one of the most demanding migratory crossings in the natural world. In just over two days, she has already covered nearly 3,000 km nonstop over open ocean. Based on her present flight path, Alang is expected to land later tonight, either over the Indus River delta or the Kachchh landscape of Gujarat another remarkable chapter unfolding in the extraordinary transcontinental journey of the Amur falcons. For all those eagerly waiting for an update on Apapang, the tiny Amur falcon, let me tell you, he has superbly executed a nonstop transcontinental flight of 4,750 km over 95 hours from the Somalian landscape to arrive in India. Look at the red line with a red dot on the Map. This truly makes Amurs among the most elite long-distance travellers on the planet. He made the first landing near Sone River, close to Varanasi and within an hour of rest, Apapang flew another 200 kms to reach a hill forest landscape near Gaya District to stop for the night. The chaps are deliberately spreading the narrative that the Centre intentionally moved the project to Puttaparthi. When I last visited the stretch around December, the Andhra government was already pouring in massive infrastructure investments. Land acquisition was largely completed, land was ready, and the existing Puttaparthi airstrip itself was a major advantage. While one side is moving on-ground with execution, the other side seems busy only making commitments and political noise.
Dr. T R B Rajaa@TRBRajaa

What we feared is happening ! And we MUST NOT allow it ! Tamil Nadu has reportedly lost the AMCA flight testing and integration project despite offering what the story itself describes as technically superior infrastructure conditions. The report clearly states that the previous government under former CM @MKStalin had been in talks with DRDO for three years to anchor the project in Hosur. The DMK government offered 100 acres free of cost and proposed a 3.5 km runway at Hosur airport, making it strategically closer to ADA Bengaluru. *Then what happened?* The story itself uses the phrase “political considerations”. !!! What political considerations? How can strategic national defence investments be decided on political grounds? This shift is grossly unfair to Tamil Nadu and deeply damaging to the credibility of cooperative #federalism. I took several meetings on this single project and our team worked extremely hard over the last 3 years for this project and it personally deeply hurts to see this crucial project being shifted. The present location is also not technically superior to the one that we offered in TN ! The union govt owes the people of Tamil Nadu an explanation. One should also understand that a change in government should not matter with projects of such importance especially when Tamil Nadu is known for its policy continuity ! Am sure that the present dispensation will ensure the same. Tamil Nadu cannot afford any drift at this moment. The state needs an agile and astute Minister for Industries immediately to aggressively pursue and protect strategic investments. I also request Honourable @CMOTamilnadu Thiru. C.Joseph Vijay to personally step in on this issue at the earliest ! He must urgently write to the @PMOIndia and Honourable Minister for Defence Thiru @rajnathsingh explaining our location, manpower and infrastructural superiority. Tamil Nadu must continue the strong industrial work done over the past 5 years and fight for every strategic investment that rightfully belongs here. #InvestInTN #DravidianModel
